The V5 bumper is a direct replacement easy swap mate. I'm guessing your V4 is like mine was in the first photos and semi face lift ie the bonnet, headlights and grill are different from the earlier models? You could also get a 99-00 grill to complete the facelift as these were also changed again when they changed the bumper and crystal headlights and side lights. I went for the black crystal for the theme I wanted and have a 99-00 grill on the way to the paint shop this weekend. Still running a standard 5 speed gearbox at the moment it is handling the power.
6 speed will come before I increase it any further.
Mine is a 98 pre facelist version 4 that I haven't touched cosmetically so far. I assume the whole facelift entails: bonnet, head lights/side lights, grill and the bumper but the version 4 bumper can't simply be replaced with a version 5? Cheers, and again, fantastic car

Yeah the complete facelift would be as you have stated.
I can't see how you wouldn't be able to swap the bumper on it's own though as if the V4 bumper fits with the facelift lights and grill then by my reckoning a V5 bumper would work vice versa?

Well the car made it into the short list for round 3 of Impreza Idol didn't really expect it too. If you think it is worthy of a vote the link is here http://www.totalcarmagazines.co.uk/w...id=1590&order=

The Type r caught fire the other day not really sure on the cause fire brigade said probabaly an electrical fault. I am truely ****ing gutted 2 years of work went into this an a lot of high an low times its like losing a member of the family. Still in a serious downer. Maybe be back in an Impreza at some point but will wait an see what happens too sick to think about it just now. Just praying I don't get ripped off by the insurers.
