I recently sold a 54 plate xt4 vtec and I thought is was much better than I expected for a hardresser car. They handle MUCH better than any other 4wd equivalent on the road , they do plenty of MPG when you stay out of the vtech mode but still have plenty of revs if you need them, I would agree that its not great off road but they have a nice low boot for people with small dogs and it never once failed to get me out of the muddy field.

They are Hondas, they'll easily do 100k
Ours seems to be heavy on front brakes, and it uses tyres faster than a hatchback would, but both could be down to MrsD's driving style
It's also had two sets of rear ARB drop links in the 5 years we've had it, but that's about it

Shogun. Brilliant, proper 4x4. Had ours for 5 years from new.
Went looking at a few replacements last weekend - X3 (probably best of the bunch), Evoque (lovely but tiny boot), Kuga (best value but tiny boot), Q5 (overpriced cockmobile), XC 70 (second best we saw on the day but pricey), Freelander (still too small in the boot dept) etc.
Got back in it the Shogun to drive home and we both said what's the point, this is ideal for what we need.
