Aiming to get mine into the 10s next year, I did an 11.6 in the damp, with knackered 4th and 5th gear synchros, and that was on road tyres and road tyre pressures, no fettling. (on the new set up)

It has done an 11.2 but that was with the old suspension set up, with the new stuff I am aiming for the 10s on a decent track and the slicks

I thought this about my 2.5 as its been limited to 7k rpm and ive got the close ratio type r box , constantly changing gear lol , 13.1 sec @100mph so we will see after i fit the 740cc injectors and my 20g ,but im thinking of a sc42 tho but?? Ill be happy with 400bhp just dont no how long the box will hold up

I ran my 400+ classic at the pod in pretty poor conditions, spun up through first and second and ended up with a 12.7 at 120mph. I know of imprezas with little over 300bhp run faster times than that and I know of imprezas with more power than my old car and run slower times.
I believe that a little classic with circa 400 ponies could run mid 11's with perfect conditions and a driver who is not concerned about damaging the car.

Yep agree with that run 12.7 @104mph on a TD05 16g at 1.1bar in my RA so probably just under 300bhp

And thats my point, we ran the same time except I crossed the line at 20mph faster and I had over 100bhp more power.
Its driver and conditions that make the difference. You're obviously a better driver than me or are far less sympathetic than I am. No doubt on a good day with a driver less sympathetic than me, my old car would of ran a mid 11. I was just being a fairey as the car was a garage queen
I did hear from its new owner recently though, he also ran a 12.7 in it but with a completely naffed clutch. He plans on fitting a ppg box, new clutch and plugging the AL and LC back in so will be interesting to see what it does.
