and your point is???
my only point was you can get the arches for far less than £127 plus vat each which i proved by providing a link.
then suggested originals look great as they are factory finish and dont require any filling, painting or bonding extra bits on..

i would think when the ht autos one is finished it will not look as good as the genuine parts that connect correctly to the bumper, but only time will tell but i have provided my finished picture and am happy with the job.

none its a cosmetic mod like grilles or a splitter, the only thing me and the op seem to agree on is that it enhances the look of the car.

well i was wrong you can in fact get them for £52 each which is far less than
£127 plus vat each which was suggested earlier on you could get genuine ones for less than that.

My point? well as you were calling him an idiot for wrecking his bumper I was merely pointing out the fact that he isn't doing any damage to the bumper but had quite cleverly come up with a solution to a problem that would otherwise necessitate the need for a complete new bumper. That is all, just thought you were slightly confused as to what it was he was actually doing.

Not strictly true, as they would legally allow the use of a wider rim on the car which would otherwise cause an mot fail/ pull by the rozers for sticking out further than the wheelarch. . . .
But yeah, mainly cosmetic .

if you read the posts before my original post, people were pointing out i was lying about being able to get them for far less than £127 plus vat each.
which not only did i do myself but provided a link should other people wish to do themselves.

the ht arches look good but need painting, which unless you can do yourself you need to pay to do it, be it pro or ratlle cans.

the op pointed out that buying genuine items doesnt mean the colour will match so i provided a pic of the finished job for people to see the quality of the finished mod, i may be biased here but i think it is a factory finish but please feel free to post any problems you see.

I was merely pointing out that it is possibly more cost effective to buy genuine parts in this occasion obviously dependent on your car colour.

How were people pointing out you were lying before your original post, what are these people phsycic?
I agree, your post is very useful if you can't spray and can get them the colour you want etc, and as I mentioned your car does look good, can't see any faults but I don't see a problem with buying aftermarket ones at half the cost of the ones from the US, let alone the price for them at the stealers over here.

i was replying to your posts
post 22.
"Which Subaru dealer sells these for £80 painted? over £200 painted for these at my local Subaru dealer, which btw tubbytommy would be your local Subaru dealer (for parts only) as well."

which i provided you the link
https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/p...oducts_id=1245
where they are in fact £52 each

and 26.
"lol maybe tubby's **** rented out to the subaru parts guy in return for cheap parts "

just because you dont know where to get them cheaper doesnt mean others dont and in regard to post 26 if thats how you get your parts so be it but i prefer to pay using money myself.

Lol, thats the kind of response I was expecting in the first place regards #26, just a bit of banter no harm meant by it . Wasn't calling you a liar in post #22, just curious as to where you had found them for that price as Subaru dealers Gatwick road Crawley had quoted me over £200. Just because I was being inquisitive doesn't mean I was calling you a liar, so chill out a bit .

Come on there's no need for badge snobbery, I thought this was a Subaru (mainly Impreza) enthusiasts?

You came on spouting bolox. I have on a number of occasions offered an olive branch to put this to bed and yet you still argue and come back with the mines better than yours bullsh*t.
To be honest with you I don't care, if I wanted an STI I would have bought an STI, but wanted a black car, without gold alloys and with a small spoiler. Not trying to make it into an STI, just matching up with a bumper that was convenient for me to buy at the time.

If your 'genuine advice' was correct at the time of posting it and your subsequent posts following were not quite in the manner that they have come across then you may find that you wouldn't have got peoples backs up quite so much.

No, you have proven that I have got the parts for half the price you got them for .
Calm down with the badge snobbery, yours is better for you, like I said I could have bought an STI but a WRX is better for me. Carrying on like a child is just proving black hawks deduction to be close to the mark.

i think you are misunderstanding the price 80 dollars each is cheaper than £127 plus vat which is about £150 each when you add on the vat.

£80 dollars is £52, so two from the us are £104 and two from the uk are £300,quite a saving i would say which was my original point and why i chose to buy from the us.

by all means buy ht ones as ht products are good quality but you will still need to paint them and i really doubt rattle can finish is up to pro standards and i personally would rattle can the outside of my car.

So you keep saying, yes they are cheaper than buying oem from UK but the point is they are still twice the price of the ones that this thread was started about, and please accept my apologies black hawk for this almighty thread derail.

but they are genuine and pre painted!

hence you save money on the painting and are going to fit no problems and look oem which is the look the op is obviously going for (i.e to look like a hawk sti).
