What would a car of this age be like to remap? is it fairly straight foward and do the engine and transmission take the extra power?

At 14 years old and 115+K miles on the clock I'd be leaving it as near standard as possible.

I am no expert but if its an import then the dvla often **** up the age when they give out plates, i know its meant to be a T2000 but it looks a bit jdm with those colour coded skirts, i thought uk were always a diff. Colour grey or something. My guess would be jdm looks too clean for a uk!

Default Some more info

Ive had a the car checked out by a local garage. Its obviously had the skirts etc painted. The car is very clean bar a bit of rust on an inner wing and a mark on the sill where its slipped off a jack at some point. It runs really nice with no unusual noises for the engine or transmission. Wheels are like brand new and interiour is good.

How desireable are the wheels on it as I dont like them and would much prefer a set of the P1 wheels.

Here are some pics of the history he just sent through.

On your first post you mentioned it had already been remapped to 280ish?

That's normally about the max on standard turbo. 280 is plenty quick enough in a classic anyway.

The next stage would be changing turbo, and remapping again plus uprated clutch & uprated fuel pump.

If I was you I'd leave it as it is
