Anyone got any experience of BMW E30 325i's? I'm liking the pedigree and availability of them at the moment

What about an old Merc E-class W124? I had one earlier last year as something totally different to the norm when replacing a car written off in a crash. Bought it off Moley's dad and it was bloody ace. Ultra ultra smooth, reliable and never ever missed a beat. Was 20 years old with circa 145,000 miles and aside from terribe fuel economy (2.3 auto - 20mpg) was the best car I ever owned.

So cheap to buy now too!!

Im looking at the exact same vehicles at the minute. ticks every box other than being turbocharged. Love the retro look too.

Your link is wrong, this looks to be the right one:

I had a 325i is was OK , developed an over heating problem and got Ebayed and still got £900 for it. They are much less exciting than their reputation led me to believe.

Yeah we got the puma, all the mechanics are sweet as a nut, bodywork is a bit tatty but that doesn't matter at all. So far we have fiberglassed up the rear arches, replaced the rear trailing arm bushes (one had no rubber left haha), stripped out the rest of the doors/bulkhead soundproofing/induction resonators/arch liners, cleaned up the k&n cone filter, replaced leaking rear brake cylinder, checked all belts/brakes/fluids etc.
Still to do is replace 2 tyres, change oil & filter, maybe remove air con if we can find a cheap fiesta 1.25 power steering pump, re-attach rear view mirror, relocate battery to rear of the car and add power cut, check/change spark plugs and buy some decent earplugs!!

get a saab 9000... really comfortable on long cruises, and cheap as chips now. Engine is really tunable too, for cheap, if you're in to that kind of thing.

Here's my old one

and here it is parked up on a french motorway service station being repaired

If anyone is still looking for cars my dad is currently selling an n reg Audi a4 2.6 Quattro, it's on eBay now, looks a bit rough around the edges but drives very well, I'm sure he will take £500 for it.
