Many thanks to Godspeed, absolutely amazing service on the pistons.
And a huge update looks to be on the horizon!...

Well I did it the hard way. Oxalic acid, leave them in it for as long as possible. Grease gun, old pads and rope to hold the 2 pistons on the opposing side and a clamp on the other then grease the life out of one piston until it pop's out. Clean it up so it doesn't stick anymore and then repeat 7 more times until you have 8 pistons out.

The only thing with using grease is they require a lot of cleaning to make sure all the grease has gone.

Its a big week, definitely not the week to try to give up smoking. Need to raise funds and that unfortunately means the block, piston's and rods may have to go. I just don't know what they will fetch.
As for patient, it's just not my nature.

WRX gone! I put it on Ebay just to test the water and set a reserve of £1000. In a day or so that was met to my surprise, and then I had a few offers before I agreed to end the listing early for £1600. Car went today...

I'm not sure I could live with a new-age. I like to look out of the window at something pretty, and I've never liked the look of any new age except the WR1. As much as I loved the WRX a 400BHP engine could be put in better......

Well after being made a great offer from a buyer 300 miles away the WRX sold last Saturday. I would have been gutted but the buyer paid £1600 without even attempting to knock me down at all. So off she went...

So, after several months now of being offered a Type R local to me I finally plucked up the courage to make a silly offer......

I paid £2500 for it Thursday! I believe it to be a Version 4. It's tatty, been scratched here and there and for some strange reason has a tow bar and one of those power unit's attached to the back as if it's been used to tow a caravan or something lol.

haha it allways had to be a type R!!

Looks good mate and just about the cheapest v4 type R I have heard of.

Who would fit a tow bar to one of these? possibly could of been done in Japan as they do some wierd stuff and have some wierd ideas and trends? Still an odd choice for a tow car lol

That's my thinking, but not sure if they have caravan's in Japan lol. I'm definately chuffed with what I paid for it, but not with having to visit the petrol station more than I did with the WRX.
Oh and Dump Valve needs to come off, I'm 32

The petrol station visits is what would concern me aswell the turbo 2000 is bad enough
I have been thinking that about my dump valve and I am only 30!! (my son loves the noise though) but mine is standard I just think with the induction kit you can hear it all of the time

Its ridiculous, I could use the WRX as an ordinary car beneath 4k and keep fuel usage down. This thing seems to start spooling about 2.5k and I think it has the short ratio gearbox, so I'm constantly trying to avoid spool by changing gear every 2 seconds. As soon as I get the chance the DV is coming off.

It took a lot of patience and wheeler-dealer type sucking through my teeth to keep knocking him down. Thanks for the compliments .
