No worries ill keep an eye on things here then , real street seems very cheap!! just thinking are there many builders out there willing to build from parts they haven't supplied ? as think they might get the hump as not making as much out of the job .
Apart from pistons/rods the builder will be supplying crank, water and oil pumps and bearings/gaskets. All the parts added together and the price quoted for the build weren't too different, so had to go with it really.

Thank you very much. The hardest part is stopping the dreaded "project creep". I need to save for the bottom end to be completed, but keep seeing cheap shells etc. I'm contemplating just putting the hydraulic WRX heads on once built, whacking it in my car which is near enough standard and running it in whilst acquiring FMIC/Injectors/ECU/Turbo.
you must be keeping autosol afloat during the recession lol Looking sweet though ,keep up the good work fella
The good thing about Autosol is that's the same tube used on the original V1 manifold and i still have half left .
V3 is now on Ebay, i seriously need to get funds rolling again.
Ye I know What u mean will wait and see what this guy says anyway any more updates on yours ?? Did u ever figure out why u received 6 pistons lmao
The update is that saving sucks big time. The Mrs' 30th birthday in a months time and as she threw me out of a plane and bought me tickets to a united match for my 30th I have to spoil her a bit I suppose.
You're forgetting I am the most impatient person in the world. I need to be banned from the selling section or something as I browse and daydream, then have to pinch myself that getting to the short engine built stage is the biggest hurdle.
As for having 6 pistons, i need to send them off to check they are 100% what i require as there are no applications for 6 92.5mm pistons.
haha i knw exactly what u mean mate im exactly the same i see sumot i want it some cp pistons are currently for sale atm i havent even got a block yet and im contemplating buying them lmfao couldnt u drop the company a email regarding the pistons explain that they sent u 6 instead of 4
They (Pistons) would be a good buy if the rings can be bought new relatively easy. I may email them but run the risk of them either wanting them back or getting the hump.
The major update would be that the money I'd started to save towards the engine build went on a diamond engagement ring for the Mrs .
Thought's are now turning to selling on the WRX as it needs some work and I just don't have the motivation towards it anymore and the price of TypeR's these days are getting very tempting. So its possible I'll pick up a cheap Diesel Zafira for some extra work over xmas to help fund this engine.
I'm sick of polishing manifolds for pittance, they aren't that popular. So have turned my attention back towards the bottom-of-the-sea 4 pots. I've managed to get the piston's out after 4 or 5 months of the calipers sitting in a bath of acid cleaner. They were seriously ****ed, and I doubt they will ever look that great but refurbed 4 pots sell for an ok amount to make some money back.
Just to keep the memory fresh and for when I post what they look like now here's a reminder of the 4 pots.....
And here's the last manifold I sold....
But the saddest update is that the Crank I was scrambling cash together for looks to have just sold
Congrats on getting engaged matey just keep on going mate don't lose interest it will be worth it in the end buddy manifold looks great your really good at polishing them
I've got some old 4 pots you could buy to do up if you want, they aren't quite as bad as your pictured ones lol
PM me an offer if you want
I'll give you a shout when I've finished these off, I'm so skint its ridiculous, i need these sorted and sold just to get the ball rolling. Thanks for the offer .

Thanks for the compliment, I'm quite proud of the last one but the reality is they aren't worth the hassle. I need to find something that will make me a little extra cash, possibly refurb'ing calipers, but lets see how these turn out first. I've got a couple of hours every morning that I can put to good use, if I knew which direction to go in.
