That red type R looks well nice you should defo go down that route but I am biased on the colour
I look forward to this build progressing now.
if you dont mind me asking how the hell did you get that crank so cheap ? I am basicly doing the same as you with a CDB I bought the start of last year and has sat in my garage ever since. I Ended up buying a new house, working constantly, and buying a WR1 too so kind of got side tracked from my build for the Classic and the fact that the classic has nothing wrong with it too.. .

Alex, I'll send that email over to you about the paint and pictures.

Thanks a lot Keith for the email and the paint advice. If you search your username on here you'll see your car has some what legendary status, often regarded as one, if not thee best looking 2dr. Searching for more pics of yours I found this.....
which I believe is "scooby-doo-where-r-u" 's old TypeR, and has been mistaken for yours.
Why not build another Keith? Did you get much time with the turbo'd engine before the crash?
On another note, the WRC kit is starting to sway me.....

Just dropped this onto your other thread.....
Here's a good site for reference and product.
http://www.frost.co.uk/
Also this is the stone chip that's going under mine before painting.
http://www.wurth.co.uk/product/stonechipprotect
From looking around I've also read that the front arch is an identical curve and size to the rear so if the rears are damaged beyond economical fixing a front wing can be chopped to then be fixed into the rear.
I've not taken a picture of mine under the boot but I have some patches of rust starting, not like yours but just small circles in the gully.... It's an area that I alway wax and clean especially on my other classic I had since the water likes to sit there.

Lol, tell the Mrs that. The Wedding dress she's picked out is £1k lol. Money is the only thing holding me back, as always.
Your's is coming on a treat Clive, why not whack a thread up like the scoobycity one?, I'm sure members would love to see your progress.

might change my mind though as your thread has inspired a quite a few people (myself included) and are a good source for research . As said in pm before i posted the pics i didn't want to spam yer thread just let you know how your rods were (nearly) being used as requested ;-)
good luck with the build fella (and the wedding)

Four people lifting from each side, or two strong chaps at each end should do it to anywhere. Personally my small shed is a cheap tacky thing (prob a B&Q), although has a ply bottom and at 6x4' it's a bitch to move, but does so with everything out on my own, sliding on concrete although it does flex a lot
If the base is hollow I'd suggest making a small X frame inside out of 3"x2" to stop it flat packing.
You'll shift it bud I'm sure.
