Looking at where the blisters are located, i would say there has been some solvent / brake fluid left in the threads / seem's from either cleaning or prior to sanding ect. Once they have been in the oven the fluid has tried to evaporate and blistered the paint covering over these spots. Hope that kind of makes sence. Its a shame, because you have done a lovely job in the prep work, and it's turned to **** at the last stage. Best of luck,

You're probably right Ben, I've got a feeling it's a combination of that and too much paint in areas.

I've sanded the areas down and given a couple of light coats. Hopefully try the baking again later tonight

Bit of a success tonight. After the last coats had dried I tried again with the colour bake. They've come out all smooth with no bubbles or flaking. There's just one small flake on the inside where the pad will go which no one will see.





Not factory finish but it's good enough for me I was hoping to get the lacquer on tomorrow but seeing as postman pat did deliver the decals it will have to wait till later in the week

Good old Tim @ scoobyparts sent another set of stickers out as postman pat clearly couldn't be bothered to deliver them. Two coats and then final bake tomorrow and should be finished









Hopefully get all the other parts in a few weeks and have the rear hubs all sorted

The rear callipers are finally finished

They looked amazing after 3 coats of lacquer. Best they'd looked up to this point



Then again another hour in the oven. All went well until I got them out



I'm sure the decals were white I would of preferred them to of stayed white but they don't actually that bad. Almost gold colour now, or maybe a crispy colour anyway, I think they'll do. Get all the other parts ordered this week and get it all finished

Earlier in the week the diff drain plugs arrived a bit bling but I think they'll look the business in the black diff. Delivery only took 4/5 days all the way from MSI in Canada. Just wished I could afford more of their parts



And then tonight I was able to collect the hubs from soda blasting. The guy I've been using that's local to me has done an amazing job. These hubs were in shocking state and he hasn't missed a spot.





As you can see, they're already starting to oxidise. I'm going to start painting them tomorrow. Hopefully have them sorted over the weekend

I did get the plugs direct from MSI but I think there's a few places that sell them across the pond.

I was able to get the first coat on the hubs. Two light coats and they should be done.






Again POR15 working its magic. I've cut the edges around the bushes ready for the second coat. I'll be ordering some poly bushes to replace these. Fingers crossed I'll have them finished tomorrow

Yes we are breaking our wagon,its shame to brake our wagon and really it has been too heartbreaking to do so for me

Yes on eBay we have numerous bids and few offers in region £14k,but we are wanted at least £16-£17k and if someone offer us such amount,we would take,but not £14k,at £16k-£17k we will took too big hit,but at least wagon will be sold as whole car and not in parts

I'm not wishing to anyone go though the breaking pride and joy,our ride hasn't been smooth and without the problems,but that's is like life

I'm defo upgrading the bushes mate. I was thinking of the whiteline or powerflex but then I saw the Powerflex Black series which are track focused I think a few of these will be ordered very soon

Evening all, it's about time I updated this build. It's gonna get interesting now

Over the last couple of years I've always had in the back of my mind, about taking it off the road and being totally track focused.

It hardly gets used and costs a bomb on tax etc but I get too much fun out of it to let it go. It seemed logical to take it off the road but I always had the problem of storage. My standard garage bearly fits a mini.

After having major barnys with the planning department and dealing with complete muppets they kept rejecting extension plans. The stuff I found out or learned from builders and architects was amazing. Not sure how they bloody sleep at night and we're paying their bloody wages

Anyway, after coming to bit of a stand still my inlaws came through. I must be the luckiest guy out there, my lot are actually pretty cool and laid back. As they live about 5/10mins away they offered to build a garage on their land. Currently we're in the middle of doing the ground work and the garage should be up and completed within a couple months

So the full out track car project begins. I'm going to do it in stages so I can still get out on track and have some fun. My man Tim (Subbus) is going to my main man and help this novice create something special (I hope).

My/our first part is going to be the handling and under the car. I must admit seeing Ryan's work of art I want to create something as detailed as that. I want it perfect, do it right, do it one. As soon as we're in the new garage the car is going up and underneath is going to be totally stripped and as many upgrades etc as my wallet can handle.

Second stage will be aerodynamics, sounds a bit over the top but personally I find this part dead interesting. Front diffuser, full underbody panel and proper effective rear diffuser.

Third stage, full interior strip and paint. A lot of re-wiring and I've got some interesting designs in mind for inside.

And lastly, if I'm not totally broke and divorced. More power

When I found out that The track car was going to happen. I wanted to try out stripping the sound deadening. Only in the boot, so if it went **** up it's not the end of the world.

I found on YouTube these yanks using dry ice to help strip the sound deadening. Made sense to me as when we put the cage in (when it was snowing) the sound deadening was easy to remove.

Stage 1. Order dry ice £20/£25 this would be enough to do inside to


Stage 2. Strip boot and lay ice on sound deadening. Wear gloves




Stage 3. Have a cup of tea, kick back and relax

Stage 4. Wait until you hear a lot of small clicking sounds. Then get a decorators scraper and the stuff just pops off. Honestly I was gob smacked


Stage 5. Try and get it off in complete pieces




Stage 6. Little wipe with panel wipe/ gunk remover etc and you're done



I had one small bit that I had to get the heat gun on but overall it took less than an hour. Just don't leave the ice on too long LOL


Stage 7. **** about


I can't wait to get cracking with the hole interior.

My next purchase which I'm very excited about is Darren's (abw) hawkeye arch extensions. I've been watching him create them on Facebook for a while now.



I've ordered a set and should arrive within a week or two. Then Ryan will be fitting, cutting and painting etc. Can't wait for him to work his magic. I'll probably end up getting the new wheels after the underside is complete.

A little update, hopefully things are gonna start moving now. Abw arches arrived the other week



Ryan has already started working on them, can't wait to see them in the flesh



It might look a little odd where it ends but I've got a few ideas on canards etc. plus the arches wouldn't of fit around my bumper plus the splitter when it's made.





Im gonna need some super wide wheels Now the new garage is up, soon as I get the car back the work will commence

Couldn't be happier with the finished arches, perfect fit and spot on painting.









I've got a few design ideas to finish these off and join up with the front splitter.



The new wheels should fill these out very well. Hoping to get the new garage sorted with a week or two and then the real fun starts
