The rain briefly stopped today, first time since finishing the cage a few pics of it all finished off
It's a bit of a squeeze now getting in and out but I had a quick release for the steering wheel
But after finding out its fake, it's going back to bloody china. But I've ordered this and will hopefully land tue/wed next week

A little updat and the plan for the next months.
A while back I got the quick release fitted, really happy with the NRG piece. Seems a lot more solid and the release system seems so much easier and stronger.
I saw on YouTube some people remove the safety release button,I did the same and it's a doddle now.
When fitted the steering shell was a lot closer than I originally thought, took a few outings but I soon got used to it. It's a lot better on track

Early this week, I was to take the scoob on track at Bedford autodrome. I took my mate and oracle Tim (subbus) with me. To say we had a good time would be an under statement. Had the best track day to date. First time with the new 6speed and the car performed perfectly. Company wasn't bed either we met up with Ross and his girlfriend Sam.
That day just reinforced to me why we spend so much time and money on these things. I came home absolutely shattered but totally buzzing.
At the moment I'm happy with the power but I want to make it the best handling scoob I can get. The plan is to get the diff sorted with better rear brakes. On the shopping list are; roll centre, lateral arms, diff bolts and heap of new bushes. I'll get some more info and pics up as I'm going.
Cheers

After the last track day at Bedford, the plan was to improve the handling rather than just flat out power. I wanted to get the rear sorted with the 180 diff which meant sorting out the hubs and brakes.
I did have a big list of parts like lateral links, roll centre and braces etc but after seeing the arch extensions Darren/ABW is working on I needed to cut the spending a little as I think when they're ready my wallet is gonna really hurt.
As I'm planning on running 9-10" wide wheels, I wanted to put new bearings in. It might be a little over kill but better be safe than sorry. I don't know the history of these hubs and it proved worth while as when Tim separated them one of the bearings didn't look great.
Then just removing the backing plate and then it's of to the soda blasting
Next to be ordered will be full new set of bearings, Godspeed larger disc's, Roll Center kit, diff bolts and load of poly bushes.
Next up was to sort out the rear brakes. I bought a set of rear brembo's of another member on here
Being a tart I didn't want to keep them gold so I set to change them to black. After a little research, I chose to use this VHT kit
Not sure the wife's going to be happy when I have to bake them for an hour
Today I was able to strip, sand and prime the calipers down
Little light sand tomorrow and I should be able to get the colour on

After the primer had baked. It was two thin/light coats of the black
And then it was two heavy/wet coats. First coat:
Then the final coat.
It should be hard after about 3hours and I'm gonna tray to bake the colour. Must admit, they didn't look amazing when I was doing the primer. But now the colour is on, I think they look spot on
Fingers crossed I don't screw up the clear coat or the baking

I'll be a Snetts in Feb if you do decide to run Just had an overhaul on mine... Coilovers, Roll Centre, ASP linkage kit, Whiteline Outrigger Bushes / Whiteline Gearbox Craddle Bushes, Beatrush Solid Gearbox Mount and flipped the wishbone pins Need to set it up on track and see how it fairs

I saw on face book all your parts, how any tyres does one man want I like the look of those beatrush parts you got. I was thinking about getting some of them too. Where did u get them from mate? I was thinking of contacting a few of the international sellers on eBay.

Right, they had an hour and they're now out and cooled down. The good news is they're rock hard so the baking worked. The bad new is there's small patches where the paint has bubbled. When you press against them the paint just flakes away. It's like there was too much paint in certain sections, maybe I was too generous when spraingy. They don't look bad but id like to get them as perfect as I can.
I'm going to try and sand/smooth these patches and see if I can touch them up before the lacquer
