I'm gonna go for the 9.75wide and 20 offset. I was thinking these for a while and just happens to be the same as Ryan's. When he test fitted and adapted the arches to fit they seemed to fit really well.

It's been a while as the garage took a lot longer than thought but it's all done now. Couldn't be happier now the cars got a new room.
Obviously a huge double would of been amazing but there's plenty of room around it and tbh it's actually a nice place to **** about in. I know the cheque flooring is a bit over the top but it had to be done
Now it's in there the cars been taken off the road and the track project is a go. Over the last year or two I've been collect info and inspiration for all aspects of the build but I'm planning on concentrating on the underside ie the handling side first.
Last week end was the start we've stripped the back of the underside. Even though it's only a 2006 car some of the fooking bolts were like a 60s rust bucket.
As I knew it was gonna happen we've decided on a few extra bits but they have to be done really. I'm lucky I've got the skills of Tim to guide me on these.
I've got a certain design in mind for how the exhaust exits and leaves clearance for the diffuser. So we've decided to make a custom system from the down pipe. When looking at what we want to achieve the fuel tank always seemed to get in the way, so a fuel cell will be on it's way
During this build I'm always thinking of the weight saving issue and I was surprised how much the tank actually weighed (yes not with juice). Gotta start looking into the right foam filled cell.
After all the rear parts we removed we chopped out the tyre well. Great fun
Parts are now off to blasting before painting and I want to get all the bolts sent off for acid and plating.
Some parts have already arrived.
I want to replace all bushes with the powerflex black range. Plus as i got the rear hubs second hand i want replace the bearings just in case.
Hopefully a load more parts will start coming in soon

Yes mate it's me, my captives said I could make my mandatory phone call which was naturally spent on scoobynet. I know you're looking after it, but if it's cluttering the garage give me a shout.
The scoob is on a diet for now as other commitments take priority
Hope to see you and the gang soon, Gez let me know if you and the guys do Bedford and I'll pop along to see the brute in action.

Picked up a load of parts from the soda blasted the other day
The idea was to paint the cradle and cross beam in gold and all the other parts black. Turns out the gold looks pants, you see brush marks and runs. Later this week they going back and going to be powder coated.
The black parts are starting to look the business. This POR15 black is awesome and is hard as nails.
The remaining rear bushes and mounts also arrived

Always gotta have a little bling Andy. Every nut and bolt is coming off. No rust or corrosion in sight. Gonna try and make it as close to perfect as I can

The gold parts are now over with the powder oater. I've recently been painting some of the black parts
I can't rate this por15 enough. It's so easy to use and its hard as nails.
The other day a few sexy parts arrived
Harder springs for the BC's
I originally up-rated them to 10 and 8's but I've now gone to 14 and 12's. After a good chat with the guys at Apex I'm confident with the right mods they'll work really well.
I found a local company that was able to clean all the nuts and bolts and re-plate them. I originally wanted the oem gold finish but apparently they're not allowed to use those chemicals as they're now seen as cancerous so I went for a dull nickel finish that looks more like stainless. I've been told its the hardest finish too.

I know it's a bit sad but this is one of my favourite parts of the build

Prop and arb all cleaned up and painted
I'm slowly but surely cleaning the underside and re-sealing
Hopefully by end of the weekend I'll have the underside and arches all sorted. Gonna try and get the new boot floor sorted too

Small bit of progress this weekend. After hours of scrubbing the rear arches and underside are all finished
The other job was to get the boot floor sorted. I decided to use the aluminium composite, which ended up working perfectly. Dead use to work with a really light
A little bit of template'ing first
Then onto the ally
Before the fuel cell goes in there will be an extra brace underneath to help take the weight and double up as chassis stiffener

Not much achieved over the weekend, only a little bit of tidying/cleaning on the boot. I'm hoping to get it painted soon.
Fuel tank has been ordered. I was able to make a few design alterations. Should be hear early next week
The highlight by far was picking these puppies up. They've been zinc coated so there's absolutely no way they can rust. Then gold powdercoat and then a clear powdercoat
Hopefully get it all fitted soon

Note to self, never use corrugated card to make a template. It's a complete ****, buy quality thick art card

Small bit but cool progress. The fuel tank arrived mid week, can't praise the guys at obp enough quality service plus I was able to customise the design
I've been cleaning and scrapping away at the boot for a while now and has looked a right state. It's only a couple if light coats and there's a few light patches but it's tones better. Really happy with the mat black, I'll probably use this on the interior too.
A couple more coats during the week and it should be looking good
