just got my enchanting up to 100 last night. the dual enchanting perk is great. bought a load of black soul gems of enthir in the college, took a dander outside and cleared a couple of forsworn camps. those black soul gem don't half make a difference to the power of your enchantments. with two enchantments on everything, all with black soul gems my waepons and dragon plate are now pretty strong. did and ancient dragon in three swipes of a battle axe. anyhoo gonna work on my alchemy today. need some potions to up my enchanting and smithing skill.

Simply go to the College of Winterhold and you get to do a whole side-quest. At the end of it you will be much stronger and have a LOT of magic skills.

On the quest, at the level we are there are three difficult sections - dragon skeleton, deathlord and Morokai. When I did defeat the Deathlord it seemed to be more by luck than judgement!!!

I am going to get a house now to go with the palatial Archmage apartment.

I never thought of that.

I'm level 44, and killed my first dragon at the weekend. I'd been avoiding the main quest, but, accidentally stumbled across the Western WatchTower.

I did that!

Running across the plain to go to another quest, when there's suddenly people shouting lots, arrows whizzing every-fricking-where and bloody Dragon whumped down in front of me.

I'm stood there going "It's a bloody Dragon. **** me it's a bloody dragon!"

and I died.

Question

I tried playing this again tonight but soon remembered i'd picked up every item i'd come across and was carrying too much stuff to be able to run Is there a shop in Whiterun? By the time i'd tried moving at a snails pace to find a shop to sell all the stuff i'm carrying my Son decided to wake up screaming his chops off and put pay to a rare chance of playing Skyrim

There is a shop as soon as you enter whiterun with two merchants. it's near the house you can buy . Followers can come in handy as you can dump a load of stuff on them when you become over encumbered.

Warmaiden smith shop. the husband and wife usually have about 1000 gold each. Belethor and Arcadia have shops in the market square facing the Bannered Mare. they usually have about 500 each. The mage in Dragonsreach has about 500 as well.

My problem is the stuff i now double enchant is worth more than anyone has got in Whiterun. Are there any other good vendors that keep more than 1000 gold?

Even when you unlock the perk that gives vendors more gold they only have 2000 or so. I had some enchanted daedric armour that was worth 12000 septims but no one could afford it. Apart from buying houses money is pretty overrated in skyrim anyway. most weapons, armour can be smithed a lot better than what the vendors have for sale.

Once you have purchased your house (its 5000 gold) dont forget to purchase the furnishings off the steward in the keep, probably cost you another 1500 gold for all the goodies

Now how do you get a wife?

You need to buy and wear the amulet of mara from someone in the bee and barb at riften. After that any interested parties will have the option to ask you to marry them in the speech options.

if you invest with the merchant in Riverrun, he has about 11000 on tap every 2 days or so.

I don't think you can marry Lydia, although she did turn up to my wedding.... dead and ruin my wedding to Aela the huntress. I think that bug has been patched now. I had more interest form men wanting to marry me than women. Maybe it was the full leather outfit I was wearing.

I've killed Alvor and now have the keys to his house does that mean its now mine to use to sleep in? Everyone was trying to kill me but when I killed Alvor they all stopped. Is that something to do with the 50 bounty on my head from Whiterun?

I'm really not very good at these games and haven't a clue what i'm doing

No when I pegged it out of Whiterun I nicked a horse to get away quicker, got to Alvor's place and everyone was still trying to kill me. I pegged it out of there up into the hills and the first person who came up into the hills I jumped off my horse and slaughtered them with my iron warhammer or what ever it is That person happened to be Alvor and no one else was around. I searched his body and got the keys to his house and no one is trying to kill me now although not yet been back to Whiterun to see what welcome I get. I'm only level 2

Thanks, so does this mean although I can use this place to sleep I still need to buy a house? I seem to have free roam of Alvor's place being able to take what I want since having the keys to the house.

Also when everyone is out to kill you does killing just one attacker then reset your status as that is what seems to have happened? Alvor didn't see me steal anything, I did that in Whiterun's castle where it all kicked off, I just happened to escape as far as Riverwood before I was able to get off my horse and attack someone without instantly being killed. Once I killed Alvor I went back into Riverwood and no one is attacking me anymore

I wont be stealing anything anymore as that caused so much hassle it's just not worth it

yes you can sleep there but stuff you leave will not guarunteed to be there when you come back.

if you kill all the witnesses to your murder then bounties in that hold are removed. if no bounties are outstanding then you wont be attacked. being a thane in whiterun means you can fob the guards off to overlook the bounties and turn a blind eye to minor indiscretions.

dont steal in plain sight. push the right joystick down into crouch mode. the eye means you're spotted, a line means you hidden. then you can steal away

pickpocketing is fun. try buying stuff of a merchant, go into crouch mode, sneak up behind him and try to steal back your gold. i would save your game before each time you want to pick pocket. the larger the amount the less chance you have of stealing it. the game will give you a percentage chance. anything less than 25% i wont do it.

try war maidens. go behind the guy, in crouch mode. try slipping him 20 gold, then try stealing it back. each time you slip him some money and pickpocket him your sneak level increases as well as your pickpocketing. remember to save your game each time BEFORE you pickpocket because if he catches you he is not friendly. if it doesn't come off, just reload the game and try again.
