went out and bought myself a new 4GB 360 (i know tightwad). ordered this on amazon yesterday and paid for next day delivery. not a copy to be had in Belfast ffs. Tescos, sainsburys, game, toys r us, currys didn't have a single copy of skyrim for the 360. spent all night playing forza 4 and battlefront.
so any tips for the would be dragon slayer? race, skills etc. played one of the first elder scrolls on the PC and quite enjoyed it. is it that good?

Turn off the Autosave
http://www.gamersmint.com/possible-s...ution-revealed
Thanks - that makes sense as it crashed after a long section as it started autosaving!!!

oh dear, i seem to have lost Lydia On the way to Winterhold in a snow storm I think. Thing is I made her carry my dragon bones and scales. Opps I think she may have been killed. What happens to the stuff I gave her? Is it all lost? do i Have to go hunting for her corpse to retrieve my dragon remains?

Completely screwed it only a few hours in.
Lost Lydia very early.
Went to Thalmor on Level 6 with very little magic or sneak - and get this - didn't give Molborn any weapons to hide.
Am now stuck in the Thalmor Embassy - cant fight my way out and cant teleport out either.
Bollox!!!!

i haven't started the embassy section yet. now level 31. smithing up to 81, house bought and kitted out. going to a mine to pick up iron ore. i transmute the iron ore into gold and make gold necklaces that i enchant and sell for a major profit. as thane you can also take everything in the Jarl house and sell at the Traders shop.
some useful tips for easy level ups. use a mud crab to increase your "block". bait the crab and evey time he attacks just block with shield or two handed weapon. your health will go down in very small amounts. when it gets low run away, use the heal spell to get back to full health, return to the crab and do it over.
go to the meadery in riften and persuade the shop assistant to get things off his chest about the owners. continue to ask him about the owners and continue to ask him to get things off his chest. speech will rise to 100 petty soon. I cant see any other way to get there durning the natural process of the game. you would need to go through 1000s of transactions to get anywhere near 100 speech. of course better speech gets you better deals in the smith shops for iron ore. Also buy a load of iron ingots and leather and make a load of iron daggers. this increases smithing and you can sell the daggers.
I found one of those cat creatures wandering near the giants camp. he seems to be a non killable player. practice all sorts of killing techniques on him. one handed, two handed, burn him, freeze him, conjour atronachs, conjour familiars, sneak attacks, archery. he takes it all. after a while you have to chase him, but he cowers in terror while you do your worst.
trout just go back to before the embassy with one of your games saves, if you haven't turned off the autosave feature.

Autosave is turned off and I don't have a save just before the Embassy.
With that level of kit out you will waltz through the Thalmor Embassy - you must have been playing a hell of a lot to get where you are!

I'm currently level 45 and have done a fair bit of the main story, got the elder scroll ready to fight the elder dragon.
Not strong enough yet to take him on so I'll keep doing side missions and other story line missons for now.
Not far off being able to make dragon armor either!!

Good thought - although I think I am already at second lowest difficulty!! The discrepancy in power is great!!
The main problem is that you cannot escape - you have to kill six guards to get the key to the trapdoor to escape. And then you have to fight, or get past a Frost Troll to escape.
I think my strategy here was poor

DOH!!!!
It will be a while before I go back to the main story arc I think. I have a list of shoot off quests and things to do the length of my arm now. It will take me a while to do these. I must admit it has been pretty much solid play since Friday afternoon. Obviously I have major inconviences like my job and household responsibilities that interrupt my play, but the bills still have to be paid unfortunately.

That is better than the walkthrough I looked at earlier. I can get back to where the locked up daggers are when there is only one guard there and I am sure I am beat him at Novice level.
Some good pointers there - thanks.

I did shoot a stag about 4 times with the bow and arrow but it still ran off! I did kill a chicken though What things should you kill as I haven't had the inkling to be a mass murderer and just attack everyone I meet in the game Oh and I obviously have too much of a conscience as I haven't stolen anything either. The horse was a 1000 gold but could have stolen it but thought nope i'll come back when I have the gold

I spent some time maxxing the smithing skills so I could improve the armour and weapons to max. Combining this with the Blacksmith Elixir that boosts this by 50% makes for REALLY good armour (rating of 900 in light armour)
Then I maxxed out my enchanting skills by using faaaasands of petty soul gems and gold rings (got from the same iron ore -> silver -> gold method mentioned above.
Then once I was able to dual enchant schtuff I kitted out a full set of Dragon scale (boost magika regen, carrying capacity, sneak, etc) a dragon scale shield (improve block and stamina regen I think) a ring (boost archery and two handed damage by 40%) necklace of smithing (boost by 27%) ring of smithing (the same) circlet of I can't bleeding remember... and finally a Daedric bow (fire and ice damage) which does over 200 damage before bonuses....
I think I got a little OCD with that lot

i don't want to give a daily blog here, but last night!!!! Jaysus, Mary and Joseph. The first real Companions quest. That was a ******* nightmare. Retrieving a shard of some old sword. those werewolf hunters dont mess about do they? and the Draugr fest in the final tomb room. the second you lift the shard up well, lets just say it was very tight going. loads of save games last night.
Did another hour of mudcrab baiting to get my block up to 80. no need to run away from them now to restore health. just switch to dual cast heal, then back to blocking the wee critter again. Levels are coming slower now. only at level 37.
one query though. I now have the Daedric Smithing unlocked but when i go to the forge I cant see any anour to make. Do you need the "Arcane" Smithing to make Daedric armour?
