Jimmy's got a Type R
If you're happy with it, that's all that matters. You know that when you need the advice when modding the car that scoobynet will come up trumps, but with the trumps there will unfortunately always be the tw*ts.
You enjoy ya motor and hope all goes well on your modding journey.
Happy New Year To All
Regards
Rick

Type R has no ABS and will need an aftermarket ecu to map. Although I did here one one company offering re-map the standard brain.

Bye Bye Custard
I was starting to like that car
Oh well, type-R is teh way to go, this will be a collectors car if kept in tip top condition. Just don't go overboard on it, its an old car now so unless you want to rebuild the engine/box/turbo/diffs etc don't go chasing huge BHP figures. Stick to 300ish bhp and make sure its happy on super unleaded using an aftermarket ECU fitted by someone who knows what they are doing (not by whoever fitted the radio LOL).

I'm just trying to help him out and as theres a certain bunch on here that just follow him around and frape every post. I thought it would be better coming from me as i've met him and was there when the deal was done, rather than him posting and getting lots of aggro.
Like you say, 300/300 should be plenty in that car, its quick as standard anyway so coughing up a bag for a simtek and map doesnt offer value for money when ESL is £550 mapped.

Bert?...Just because,no reason

Before Hamster tells you,on slightly wet roads set on rear wheel drive it slides ! Like it did on the way home with it ! Not funny, thought I was going to total it !!
Mansion or Bedroom,none...I live on my own up in till the 26th in a two beded private appartment complex,I did take Stu to my other house Alison and my Daughter live in which is still my house, the custard had its pix taken there, will take some of the R there later and ad them to JIR.
I do like this car, trying to work out the DCCD,I think if no lights are on its 50/50 4 wheel drive, defo don't like it on rear wheel drive though ! Thats cos my knackered right hand !! I had a new car with it on,but it was slightly different...This is a fun car, shame about the abs !
The biggest difference is the short gear ratios and shorter throw, centre diff adjustment. Its great fun banging through the gears on a type r.I thought I'd get fed up with the short gears but I haven't.
Yeah, and you know your New Year has been **** when you are posting at 06:56!!
Well done Jimmy, seems you pulled a blinder with the Type R!
