BS...

All classics at some point will get the rusty rear arch syndrome. Some worse than others, it's by no means something to worry about. A good body shop will repair and paint both side for circa £400.

So I should stay away Nossy89??...
Brendy,he is a trader,as I put above,he took it for px,seemed 100% genuine and honest,he clearly said he wants 500 quid out of it,he gave 1500 for it,500 spent and the 500 he wants = 2 and a half as to what I offered...I must admit I do really like it..Anyone close by (fuel&time paid of course) fancy looking at it in more detail for me >?

If you get that for 2.5k then it's a bargain, you'll have cash left over to sort out a rusty arch or an engine rebuild and still be in with a good motor for a good price! I'd love one of these but even 2.5k is well out of my budget, hopefully he'll come back with a price you can deal with

Anyway I have offered £2500 for it pending me taking someone along who can check it over for me.

Do another HPI check Jim, a proper one not just one on your IPhone. Think they cost about £40.

If that car comes for £2500 then bite his hand off IMO. Rear arches are easily sorted and if that's the only issues on the body then happy days. Hell, even If the engine gives up its not the end of the world. Newage STI short motors are coming up cheap now so that an avenue you should think about.
At 2.5K it is VERY cheap.

The dealer more than likely just wants out as its not his bread and butter. If he agrees to £2500 and you change your mind let me know, I'd buy it in an instance.

Well I am trying to get Hamster to come with me as the "geek" to go over it for me....Rear arches won't cost the earth to fix and it's a blank canvass for me to start and build the way I want it...
He has done the HPi check with HPi,I haven't seen it but he did have it,he's a van trader and seemed open and honest to me..

I was refering to the comment made saying that rust was nothing major. I was trying to point out don't take the rust issue to lightly because thats what happened when my arches went. You couldn't even see it on the out side.

Let the man rush if he wants to! Besides, he has an iPhone, so he must be better than the rest of us.

I wouldn't give a toss if the bottom end is knocking for £2500. If anything it's an excuse to put a decent short motor in.

This is assuming that you have plenty more money to throw at it. I get the feeling that Jimmy has no intention of paying 3.5k regardless.

Remember he's a van trader. I didn't know what a type r was until I looked into it. He's probs just gone on the trader and saw how much an impreza's worth and stuck it on for that.
