Well I've bought a sim free Galaxy S2, which i will use until the launch of the S3 or iPhone 5, it should be with me around the 5th/6th of January.
I must say I'm looking forward to having a play with the Android OS, does anyone know when the ICS firmware is being officially released? Plus any recommendations for protective cases / screen protectors and other accessories?
Now what to do with the iPhone 4?

I certainly will, no problem.
Thanks for the links and info, I have ordered an Otterbox case as that is what I had on my iPhone 3G and have on my iPad 2 they are really good quality cases and although not cheap are good value for money.
Oh and I have ordered a Samsung 32GB micro SD card (class 10) as well, so storage should not be a problem.
i have a case by otterbox, could be worth buying a micro sd card as well
it isnt the slimest of cases, but it offers very good protection, but what sold it for me is that it has covers on the power, jack ports, as there can be dust at my work and i have ended up with it under the screen of a phone before (iphone)
get your self onto the XDA forum, and everything that you ever wanted to know about this phone will be on there somewhere.

im running a custom rom called 4 seasons. and it is very fast, smooth and stable. and the battery lasts alot longer as well!

I am looking forward to seeing the differences between iOS and Android, I have only ever played with a Galaxy S so I think I might be in for a pleasant surprise. But if I don't get on with it then I will only be a short wait for the next generation of smart phones to arrive.

Is it just me thinking you won't get much change from £800-1000 for the anticipated iPhone 5?
I'm on a 3GS 16gb currently and the nature of my Vodafone contract stipulates I can upgrade upto 190 days early, ie now if I wish. But the 4 and 4s models don't excite me enough to fork out for a handset aswell as keeping my current tariff. Would the general opinion be let it run out (may time) and see what's about then. The phones not knackered but I have been impressed with it enough to buy another iPhone.
It does seem Vodafone are very tight/stringent, call it whatever you want, with their 'negotiation' on iPhone tariffs/handset prices. This is the one thing which puts me off a little, no room for manoeuvreing or offering a long term customer a good deal for loyalty. Seems more scope on android phones for this.

what you will not need is a screen protector as the gorilla glass is extremely strong snd doesnt scratch under normal circumstances.
one thing this can do that iphone cant that personally I find useful is if u use a mhl csble and blutooth keyboard and mouse you effectively turn it into a PC i.e on your tv surf net pkay movies/games etc.

Yeah does a bit, but that always varies, most of the time it's around 80ms
But im waiting for LTE, im sick and fed up of bt holding back broadband, LTE will give them a hefy kick up the backside, i've seen what it's capable of.
I just wish ofcom would hurry up with the bidding.

And just to be a nit picker, people who use the Tesco sim card's ARE cheap skates, they offer no network services like call waiting, diversion etc as the network doesn't support it,why ?..It sits on the old o2 network !!! So these sim cards are for the cheap wanna be's with a 10 quid phone !!

Can someone recommend me a phone that, you know - does this 'making telephonic calls' malarkey?
I already have a computer for computing and I have a camera for camering.
I even have a butler for ****-wiping and foreskin cleansing.
Good God, you lot.
Just listen to yourselves.....
(Young Oldsplice excepted, of course )

I would hope that Android has 50% market share by now, it's free and not as **** as some. But, how come no one's using it? It tally's with what I see as well, I occasionally see someone break out a Android phone, but no often, where I see iPhones in use all the time. Maybe you buy an Android because there are no normal phones around any more.

Well I stand corrected Jack Clark's personal survey has to be right. The world wide data collating companies must be wrong
Jack you are reinforcing the stereotype that apple products are like Gucci, all show no go. Whilst those smart phone users who crave function over form choose Android

Hardly, with 50% market share but only a small percentage of web use it obvious that Andorid products are bought and not used and Apple phones are useful. The opposite of your view and backed by fact.

I reckon that in that 50% web usage for IOS stat they have included Skype.
It will be all the iPhone users on Skype as it doesn't work as a phone whereas Android does
