What a hilarious thread. It really brings out those that have small ***** syndrome, one mention of 'not being able to afford something' and its like a feeding frenzy at the zoo with all the dumb **** animals squawking and flapping around as they swallow the bait whole, trying to get more grain than the next one...and then comes ironic statements like 'grow up' added on the end of one of them...brilliant.

if your a sheep then its the apple side of you thats doing that doing the S2 is freedom compared to sitting with apple, it really is, im actually glad ive gone for the samsung as a works phone over the iphone 4 which I received last year.
The screen on the samsung is better than apples, you would be a fool to say different, quality wise, yes its a bit more plasticy as the S2 doesnt have those nice aluminium inserts, but put both in your back pocket and the iphone will be the one that has a broken screen by the end of the evening.
Battery wise, im finding the S2 lasts longer than my 3gs (not hard ) and longer than the 4, not seen how much better the battery is on the 4s but its a damn sight easier to replace a battery on the samsung than it is on an apple iphone (iphones are not that user friendly in alot of respects when it comes to basic maintenance).

And just to be a nit picker, people who use the Tesco sim card's ARE cheap skates, they offer no network services like call waiting, diversion etc as the network doesn't support it,why ?..It sits on the old o2 network !!! So these sim cards are for the cheap wanna be's with a 10 quid phone !!
Tesco £10 pm.. 500mins unlimited text and unlimited data winner.
I'm glad you have so many ppl ringing you you need to have them on call waiting. lol
you're a brand marketers dream customer well done

I was intending to buy an iphone before xmas, but opted for the S2 instead, which I ended up getting as a present. A friend of mine has an iphone 4 which I've used a lot, and I can't really think of anything I'm missing out on by having the S2 instead. I'd say it's every bit as good as the iphone, anyway.

I'm not an apple fan boy I've always had nokia's but I've got an iPhone 4 and it's brilliant. I wouldn't touch any of there laptops with a barge pole but I love the phone. It's easily the best made it quality and it looks good. And out of the phones I tested the touch screen on this was the fastest and most responsive. Takes abit of getting used to but it's now the simplest phone I've ever used. But best of all unlike any other phone I know if it breaks you go into apple throw it at them and they give you a shiney new one. However... I fooking hate the auto-correct half the time. And paying £35 quid a month on a contract I don't want to have to pay for the phone aswell. And as for the 4s. For those sad souls that qued up for days to get Exactly the same phone as the 4 are idiots. The only noticeable difference is the talking thing it does when you ask it questions. My dads got one and to 99% of people it's exactly the same. END RANT/ anybody know the specs of this s3?

Don't be a **** all your life. Have a day off.
I had no ulterior motive in starting this thread, and I don't need to justify myself to you. I just wanted opinions from people who have actually used both. If you don't like it, don't read the thread. Go and pick on someone else.
Thanks CF

Its usually those on the state that have the best phones. Mate of mine doesn't even work and has a 4s and a Ipad 2
As for the question (I know the HTC isn't mentioned but I'm comparing what I know to what I have seen of the Iphone) I have a HTC Desire HD and it does everything I need - EXCEPT - the camera is very poor in low light condtions. I mean useless. At a couple of gigs I couldn't use my phone as the pic was just a mess. My wifes Blackberry POS took a better low light photo. I noticed those with Iphones had a far better picture. I also think the screen on the Iphone is sharper than the DesireHD.
Having said that the DesireHD cost me £50 and my tariff is £18 a month or so. The Iphone would probably require me to pay £35-£40 a month which I'm not prepared to do.
Wife has a Blackberry that has conked out completely (think she's on her 4th) and Orange won't replace it. So she's paying £35 a month for a knackered phone.
IMO, if you can, pay towards the phone and keep the tariff as low as possible. It costs the phone companies pennies for your contract and all you are doing is paying for the phone. If it breaks and won't be replaced in contract then your paying for F all.

The iPhone 4s is different,it has siri, which I will admit isn't as good for the "English" market/voice as do Apple do now,the camera is far far better,so is the battery,so is the speed, and if your a geek like me,the 64GB is well quick,it's like a Evo And a Scooby,Evo will win everytime ! (JOKE)

LOL - what you earn has nothing to do with the phone you own.

This is what I had in mind.
I just want good battery life and camera. And a screen that I can see in sunlight. Also, the Xperia Mini I have at the moment, I've found, is too small (which is why I had narrowed it down to my two choices, and have almost ruled out the Galaxy Ace). I'm not a phone anorak, and therefore don't usually read the phone threads in here.
