Very nice car that matty . Boxes on gtir bit slow on gear change for me I had to change box in mine lost reverse gear lol

I had an mr2 mk2 rev one before I got my gtir . It was only the na 160 bhp mr2 but didnt half shift . It wast as quick 0 to 60 but get it on the bends and it was off I left most things standing that I came across :-) that car was born for corners :-) .gtir was fab on corners too my scoob not so good but will be when im happy with suspension etc. I do love corners.
Your scoob should have eaten it on the strait.

My standard Impreza Sti V4 with a decat system was no quicker than my MR2 Turbo GTS Rev 3. Completely different drives and you had to have ***** of steel to take the tubby into a corner with any speed, especially if it was slightly chilly or damp!
But in a straight line at least, the tubby was just as quick, if not a tiny bit quicker than the STI. You have to drive one to believe just how quick they are in standard form.

Don't believe that the scoob will race off into the distance. 4wd is just not ideal for straight line speed. Just ask him to wait till it rains, then request a re-match!

My mate had one a couple of years back, that thing was lethal in the wet, wheel spin through 1st,2nd and 3rd didn't get into 4th you just couldn't put the power down in it, the same lad had a gti-r too, he got that too around 320 then went through 4 gearboxes as he used to launch it by side stepping the clutch, it even came with its original umbrella, it was a nice motor supposed to be a china colour but he always got the pi$$ taken as it looked beige next to the white starlet, lol

genuine border kit too! I still miss it to this day, it turned heads everywhere it went and was surprisingly good on fuel when driven nicely

Everyone kept telling me that it would try to kill me one day but I never once had a problem unless I provoked it but if you're provoking it then you expect it to bite back. 2.2 would of been absolutely mental! I thought mine was quick with 320bhp lol my mate has still got his 3.0 v6 engined rev 2, I still go to the mr2 owners club meet once a month in the scooby

Maybe the MR2 had more power, who knows? The other thing could be how was the Subaru driven?
