couple more bits turned up this week, bonnet lifters from crazyspeedfreak, sparco wiper blades and some more sensors from Tim[EGT and FFS switch]

I will starting to relocate the fuse box this weekend along with smoothing the unwanted holes in the engine bay, smoothing the other inner wing now the ABS is removed and cutting the boot floor out.

So I got to flushing the inner wings this weekend, first came the N/S which also required the fuse box to be relocated behind the inner wing panel,I originally wanted to make an access door for it but after making the decision to put the MAP sensor and boost solenoid into the other inner wing to hide them and completely unclutter the O/S inner wing and wanting to finish this project in this lifetime with all the other custom stuff going on the decision was made to just mount it in such away it can be accessed through the splash shield in the inner arch, tbho though it will give the inner wing a very clean look indeed with nothing what so ever there!
I also welded over all unwanted thread holes on the strut towers and gearbox top support bracket, all that is left in the engine bay now is to get inside the car and remove the fuel lines from there which finish just inside the engine bay, also remove the aircon pipes that protrude through the bulk head but that means removal of the dash some what to gain access.

Thanks lads,it should be good once I get the filler work done to make it all nice and smooth, one job which will be time consuming now is the wiring required to extend the looms to still reach where there supposed too!

My aim is to have a very clean looking bay with no clutter at all or as much as possible,I'll have enough going on in there with all the an- unions with braided hose along with silicone water/breather pipes so everything else needs to go lol

Thanks Cliff, that was a low point all right to which I'm glad I didn't follow through with what I was thinking.
The project will 100% be finished but will probably not be this year given how much I'm now doing with it lol but should end up being worth it!

Big thanks going out to Ian[trails] for arranging my kartboy rear steady bush and gearbox cross member bushes and a massive thanks to Greg@TiC for sending them so swiftly from the states.

Next and as usual great service from Alyn at AS for sorting me some goodridge fire proof sleeve for my engine bay braided fuel lines

While I have had the filler going this week on works jobs I have been making good the inner arch[on the outside behind wing area],I could have left it alone but seeing as I'll probably not be running arch liners it would be on view to anyone that cares to take a look and mostly for my own needs it just will not do if left looking unattended lol.

Just the passenger side one to finish off.

It will be easily accessed mate through the inner arch area, either with wheel turned away or off,I've mounted it so I can get the lid off nice and easy.

Looking good Ryan and having seen it today it looks like an OE job, the engine bay looks so much neater when the inner arches have been filled and smoothed in.

As I said to you it looks like it was always that way.

Thanks Ty that is just the look I'm aiming for tbho, like it could have come from subaru like that.
I have the inner arch area's ready for high build primer now,we needed to put some etch on so the seams could be put on although I do need to run a seam of sealer down the O/S inner arch which doesn't take long,i also welded over the threaded holes which retain the bonnet catch as I no longer will be using one due to bonnet catches,I now need to get the aircon pipes out along with the old fuel lines to weld those's holes over in the bulk head to complete the engine bay, next will be the boot floor and rear diffuser.

This weekend saw some good progress,I got the fuel lines removed along with aircon pipes protruding the bulkhead so I can now weld over thoses holes and then got to work cutting the boot floor and back slam panel in preparation of making the difusser and flat boot panel.
The alloy panel used for the floor was only to make the template and will be our guide for the final piece as the piece I had got was a bit small and we cut it a bit wrong as well like I knew we would first time round lol.

To install the alloy piece we have cut a slit into the rear panel so it can be slid straight in,the reason for this was it can not be installed in one piece through the boot hole appeture and I wanted a full size coverage panel not just up the middle like most do.
I'm really happy with how it's progressing now and this will be a massive job out of the way when complete, just need to go and pick up some more alloy to make final boot floor panel and make the difusser.

I also removed the air bag ECU and crash sensors down in the inner wings along with wiring,it shed some weight if nothing else lol.

We have left the boot floor panel protruding through as it will be the front mount point for the difusser and boy cant I wait to get the subframe off and get it painted and poly bushed lol,it looks shameful

Would you not be better with a sheet of steel so you could weld it in place. I had issues on my last car bonding and riveting a flat boot floor in because of the distance to suspension mounting points and ended up welding it to pass an MOT

Airbag ECU next on mine along with all of the ABS Sensors - like you say, more weight

Starting to make some progress anyway

Good point Jon but I already have that one in mind,we are going to make a double skin with one on the underside between the chassis legs and once painted will be 4mm thick and very rigid and for lack of better words like it grew there.
I have discussed this with our MOTer and he said it's fine like that.
