at that sort of budget youre not going to find a minter. You have to remember that even the youngest classic like mine is going to be 11 years old so will have owners/mileage/mods etc.

You're in for a long search, just a case of finding the right car for the money.

just found this looks clean and honest

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3348400.htm

would want to drop him on price a tad tho what do you think on it?

(dont get me wrong hamster few battle scars or a few owners wont bother me aslong as its not hanging and its got a good engine in it and everything works as it should looks like a buyers market right now so hoping i will get lucky and find a solid base for modding in the future)
if not will probaly just save abit more as dont want to buy anything crap

Its sold mate.

Oh forgot to mention when you search click cars on the left hand side and don't put in your maximum budget. Don't forget try and get a 98 or newer if possible.

its not sold I was a bidder underneath maximum bidder and he pulled out 1 hour after auction without even viewing car

he offered it to me with

stainless intercooler and y pipe
baileys dump valve
3 guages and centre pod

which were extras he had advertised seperatly on ebay

and he has offered it to me for £1800

do you think its worth a trip/look ?

thanks for all tips and info very very helpful

It sold for £1750 so how come he's offering it to you for £1800?? Winning bidder was himself more like.

Its poorly advertised, clearly not someone who knows imprezas (4 into 1 manifold, who'd have thought it) no mention of a remap with the mods.

My mate just bought a 99V reg, same colour and looks, 70,000 miles, panel filter and de-cat, FSH for £1500 so thats what i'd be offering this guy.

see what your saying

he offered it to me for £1800 because he was adding a big topmount intercooler , dump valve , 3 guage centre pod holder with 3 guages into the deal which were not listed with the car they where listed seperatly

wish i could find sort of deal you just mentioned just think i will have to be more patient and wait for a good one with fsh

This is very dangerous because you then buy cars with your heart and not your brain, sometimes buying something that is full of problems.
OP, sit back and chill out. Take your time finding the correct car. I know your desperate to own an Impreza but I'm sure your not desperate to sort out a load of potential problems. The right car will come along at the right price trust me. Does it really matter if you own an Impreza tomorrow instead of next month ??

The car in the link is overpriced, simple as that. Move on.
best bit of advice ive seen on scoobynet
