I have to say GB is pretty darn quick, so if ICS slows performance I am happy to stick with GB. Seems perfectly smooth and pretty instant.

Well until ICS is working fully I'll stick with VillainRom 3.0, it's much the the same as Gingerbread but with a few tweaks and faster. Whatever Rom you have get Titanium back up and remove all the crap that networks and the phone manufacturers put on the phones.
I get 2 days out of a full charge easily now. Galaxy S2.

Google is the best place to find exactly what you're looking for, but be warned some threads are hundreds of pages long sometimes within a month!
