Thnx!

A featherweight upgrade for today!

What will it be?

Fiberglass doors!

The body is finally complete now and is able to get painted.

Some adjustments...

As if its OEM!

You might be wanting to know how much OEM door weights?

This is however a "complete" door, with window and mechanics in it still fitted. My new doors will get Lexan windows however, so I hope to compensate the extra weight of the rollcage in the end anyways.

Finally we've put the baby 3cm lower to the ground.

Thats it! There might be a minor update on Saturday, but this will be the day when the body will get transported to the paintshop... FINALLY! Then you'll have to wait until further updates...

Thanks guys!

Yesterday it finally has come so far: off to the paint shop!

I borrowed a set of "matte black rims" from my "ex girlfriend"

The difference!

YOOO!

And off she goes...

Hard to think that we've picked her up like this exactly a month ago:

I would like to thank JT and everyone else who has made this possible.

End of chapter...

Just returned from my holiday in my hometown Moscow, bought some stuff there:

And the project made some progress without me too:

The "old one" is being dismantled:

Flowing the heads:

Baffled sump:

And the rest:

This week the car is coming back from the painter and I'm going to pick up some new goodies..

And another update:

Just purchased LP FMIC/Rad combo set. I'm going to pick it up this Friday, but I couldn't resist the temptation to post it already.
Them pics from previous owner:

This was the case and previous owner had a custom fiberglass bonnet, but I will make another pipework, so no worries about that.

Guess what? She's back!

Although it was quite hard to recognize her...

Random stuff:

Details:

Outside:

Comparison:

January:

February:

March:

Once she got "home", we started immediately with the build:

Suspension mounted:

Well, the 330 brakes look microscopic now thanks to the colossal wheels... I think I should mount 356 in the future..

With the Spec C front train the wheels are standing ever further outside...

Cya next time!

P.S. Before you start commenting on the "blue" inside the wheel arches: we are going to paint them black, thats why they're left unpainted

Looking good, can't believe the body shop didn't blow the arches over though.

Is it my imagination or did you spend time spraying the under floor blue? Did you have a change of planned colour?

Car does look amazing by the way. Really top job. Can't wait to see it come together now!

Well, time and money are important aspects on this build, and because we wanted to save both, we've told the painter that he COULD skip those, because we would paint them black eventually anyways to prevent strange contrast and not to be bothered by dirt.
The eventual paintjob costed us €1500, which we find quite cheap for in- and exterior + preparation of it.

The underfloor was done by the previous owner. Did a good job, however it delivered some nice dents on the side that we had to remove...

Thank you!

Some updates:

Rear brakes are assembled, we had to put 356 on there because we had serious fitment issues of the 330 on 2005 sti axles.

It does create a retarded look, since the front is still 330, but we're going to solve this issue soon.

And the rear train is assembled. I want to install tubular subframes in the future together with uniballs trailing arms.

The braking system is also installed and connected, the front and rear are two separate circuits, so if one may fail/leak, I will always have another one.

At least with a blue underside you can always tell if the car is the right way up!

Not really an update but...

We went for some trackfun last Friday and to test our new S14a. One of our team mates just bought it from previous owner, so don't judge the driver on his performance, its was his first time driving it ever (on drift tires)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uNoZSijOwU

Dont hate me too much, its my first vid ever with automotive scene in it, let alone track day... and yes, I can use another cam, but currently all the money is flowing to my build

Today we've unveiled her appearance at the first TA race of the season:

More details after sleep.

P.S. hard to imagine that the car was looking like this on Janiary 10th:
