He plays the stero types and he probably wonders why people hate asians. Its because of what he does.

Mate I will say it again I think what you did was right and no I don't think you are a racist. If it was me I probably would have said things that I shouldn't have.

And before people start saying I'm racist I'm sort of Asian on my Dad's side. Sort of lol.

I sincerely apologise for not knowing or caring as to his cultural heritage.

Next time before i tell someone why they are a tit for parking in a disabled bay i will be sure to ask them exactly where they are from.

Honestly jtaylor, are you just pretending to be a **** or is it really you?

I don't disagree, but when you look at who has the most to loose then is it worth it over a parking space. Imho.

Bit of both. So, was he Chinese looking, Indian, Pakistani, Arab? Surely you don't need to interview the individual to assess this? "Asian", well that narrows it down. Typical racist!

Yeah using the term Asian is fine, like you said its a big place and you can't tell exactly whos who. Not all Indians look the same if you go there and actually pay attention you can tell who is from the south etc. Thats just one example.

I've an Indian mate called Dhaval Patel who could pass for a Pakistani and another called Anoop (oh, how we mock him) who looks classically Bollywood. I just think the term 'Asian' is used by people because they believe it's a safe description - in the same way people seem terrified of describing someone as black. I quite enjoy guessing people's ethnicity when I meet them, 'though I rather upset Dhaval when I guessed Pashtun.

+1

It's like the Police Camera Action type programs when they stop a car and then it's full of young male Asians and they start saying the Police are racist for stopping them. Pulling that card to poorly attempt to get out of a situation makes my p!ss boil.

Give over, James.

Let's not turn this into yet another race related thread. The race aspect was a side issue to the story and I'm sure if Chop wanted this thread to be about that, he may have elaborated more in his OP.

Back on topic, I think you did the right thing, Chop. So many people these days take the **** with so little regard for others, it's quite refreshing to see someone stand up for what is right. That said, it's all well and good fighting the goos fight, but I think so many people are afraid to as they just don't know how far the other person will go in reaction to merely being told they're in the wrong.

I'd say having a word was bang on. Parking in a disabled spot when you don't have a badge isn't on. Even though I do have an issue with there being too many disabled spots in some of the car parks here (versus parent and baby / child spots) it does not mean I'm going to park in one if it's free.

I disagree that he was/is a **** though. Why? Well, a **** actually has a purpose and a use, this moron doesn't qualify under either of those definitions. Useless waste of flesh and space, possible qualifications there.

Funny episode this Chop because I've seen this time and time again.

I'm a member of a DL gym and I often see cars without a badge in the disabled bay, they often tend to be very expensive cars ie Bentleys etc. Once I even saw an Audi Q7 parked at an angle across two disabled bays!!

Makes my blood boil everytime, what sort of **** would do that and not feel utter shame when somebody sees them getting into/out of the car??

I also see people drive round and round the car park looking for parking closer to the entrance. You've come to the gym to get exercise and now you don't want to walk an extra one minute, ffs, people are just mental!

Parking in a disabled bay in a council-run parking area is actually fraud, and since most private-owned car parks probably have to have a minimum number of disabled bays by law, it amounts to the same thing even there.

Anyone who does it is no better than a scumbag benefit cheat, and deserves to be told (and quite honestly slapped IMO).

Good lad Chopper
Pity there weren't more like you.

I would also confront this myself.
Although, on a more serious note, I suspect that it will eventually land us in trouble

I would happily park in one of my gyms disabled bays. There are loads of them and the only one that gets used is by a member of staff. Given the 15-20 disabled bays that i have never seen used in two years of being in the same gym I don't see it as an issue.

I think you were absolutely right to say what you did to him.

It is incredibly selfish to take up a disabled slot when you are not entitled and his reaction was also very bad. He obviously was finding it hard to justify his action so tried to find another means of attack.

Those parking slots are there to help those who have the bad luck to be disabled and to make life a bit easier, or often in some cases make it possible for the person concerned to attend.

Those who take advantage should be heavily penalised.
