race dynanics remap......worth it?
If someone is really as bad at doing something as people say then you know it wont take long for them to lose customers .
I'm not so sure about that, not the way people on here rubbish other peoples opinions, advice and personal experiences!!!! And go **** long into whatever they wish no matter what
advice they are given after asking for it!!!

My car was mapped by Duncan as were quite a few of my friends, not just road cars but track cars. One of those cars must of completed 10 full trackdays last year and people who know this car know the owner does not hold back, the car is revved to within an inch of its life lap after lap after lap....it didn't miss a beat and neither did any others!
I read the link that Kas put up and i feel for the guy whos engine let go but how many people would keep their foot in when it was evident there was an issue with the car? Anyone in their right mind would limp it back to the pits and have a look to see if there was anything obvious wrong with the car....wouldn't they?
This thread has done nothing to deter me from using Duncan for mapping and by the looks of it there are others who feel the same way....
totally agree infact im meeting duncan next week for a tweek after fitting a few bits, the mud slinging is quite funny to be honest, the main culprit is one who foooks his own car up and blames anyone who has been near it,.
Duncan is class. He came out to Emmas in Leicester at 10pm to map her car after a long stressful session in Leeds the same day.
He road mapped it and it transformed the car, BUT shortly (a week) it developed a twitch so we rang him. He came straight round within a day or 2 and cleaned the maf, and the car ran faultlessly after that.
A month or so later we had it dyno'd at a club day at Scoobyworld (bug wrx, panel filter, pump, 3 port, decat) but it only made 233bhp with 264 lb/ft. I posted a thread about our group meet and the results, and Dunc pm'd me within an hour saying that he was gutted about the figures and would take a look at it FOR FREE at RCM the next time he was there.
He did 3 dyno runs with all his kit on the car but it was running at full potential. The problem was that the cat in the up pipe has collapsed and was literally starving it. He spent the best part of an hour exploring all possiblities to give the diagnosis.
Emma has now got an sti up pipe and will be fitting it, then getting Duncan to tweek the map. He's given Emma a huge amount of reassurance in the way he's treated, not just the car, but us as customers.
All the backstabbing etc on here is pointless. I work in a competitive market (tv aerials/sky) but dont go around slating other peoples work. I take pride in my work, give value for money, customer service is important to me and I get a lot of recommendations. The same principles apply to all the mappers on here and customers are quick to praise peoples work, which is why I find it sad and childish that other people in the same industry look for opportunities to target/belittle fellow mappers.
You can trust Duncan with your car, we did and have been happy ever since.

duncan has mapped my car 3 times and i've been happy every time. first time was 3 years ago, just with a filter and zorst. last time was vf35, pinks and full decat. i said i only wanted 320bhp. he got that on the first run. he said it would do 345bhp if i wanted it, but i want to keep it at 320ish for while.

andy f selling a turbo with a cracked housing? it was returned and was sent back with e metal on? how can he slag anyone off with actions like that?
i use dunc, but i would be happy using JGM, but i don't agree with buying a license for my own ecu.
out of all the mappers, has anyone NEVER had a failure?

I’ve had Duncan map my car for the last 4+ years and through the many mod’s I’ve decided to do, the dyno graphs and results from the KS3 have been absolutely bang on the money! I have no mechanical sympathy for my car whatsoever but it’s still purring like a kitten and putting out good power despite hundreds of laps round Snett, Brands, Marham etc and a trip to the ring and back. Also WOT on the autobahn for miles on end was faultless.
I did have huge problem with det a while ago and Duncan dropped everything to investigate the problem (the day before a TA round) and it turned out to be a split intake pipe. The very fact that he took the time out of his own schedule speaks volumes to his commitment to his customers.
Getting a service from ones mapper is one thing, but getting a service that is above and beyond the call of duty is another.
Quite sad that a certain tuner from north of the border is getting bitchy! Maybe Buckfast has gone up in price and he’s feeling the pinch?
Just like you are rubbishing opinions from the other side of camp... Fool!

At the end of the day, the op asked for opinions on RD and that's what he got, now if it was me and someone told me good stuff about someone which then turned out to be wrong for whatever reason I wouldn't be happy, equally if I was told bad stuff about someone, alarm bells are going to ring and I will change my decision based on that as it simply isn't worth risking it with my car...

They can be welded to stop the crack travelling further and then sealed with exhaust sealer although ideally the housing should really be renewed. This would be an additional cost which many are not prepared to pay.
If you renew every part then you may as well buy a new turbo, this would cost £350 more but would however come with a full 12 month warranty, every part being covered.

As the OP now has all the answers to his question, plus answers to questions he didn't ask, and some more questions of his own no doubt, is it time for this whole thread to be locked/vaped/forgotten?
That would be an exchange TD05-16/18/20G turbo, where i use the purchasers own exhaust housing that he supplied to me. It is not possible to cover this part by warranty as A - I didn't supply it and B - you have no idea of its history and they are known for cracking around the flange at high mileages.

myles this should of been vaped from day one but now as many have had a pop at RD its fair to let the truth come out about the rest,.
Whoever is the best, worst or whatever, I cant comment because I dont know their trade at all so when I use their service, I do that having researched. Also, and more importantly, I know that if my car goes pop being mapper at 80k, it could be a myriad of problems, the mapper being the smallest really.
not at all the truth there is it andy, tut tut, you sold the complete unit for ££££ well i wont say or name the guy that bought it, infact he would not even condone me posting this tbh but we all have probs including you, you slate customer service from others then you bodge turbo`s and return them to customers, your the joke here my dear,, if i did that with my buisness i would not have a company now,. shame on you pal, shame on
You cant give cheese & expect gold in return. Gold for gold. He wont condone your post because its full of doo doo.
bit like re maps then ay pal, we all pay full price and 99.9% are happy but we all **** up somwhere along the line yes, especially you kas as you have fooked up 2 maps up with your tinkering and tried to blame others, true, indeed yes, i run a succesfull building company but i have got it wrong from time to time, its the which hunt that pisses me off,.

'Its not how you mess up, it is the mark of the man how he deals with it'
Fiddlers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your engine.
People cant help but play around, change things to get a couple more 'safe' bhp, then bleat when the weasel goes pop.

Good point! Most people on here know that Kas/aladin/kareenababy is an idiot and has little or no knowledge about anything relating to the Subaru brand. It's quite sad that he continues his vindictive mission against a certain tuner, But at the end of the day the said tuner will always be in business and Kas will always be a sad lonely person with little or no credability

You'll feel better once you let it out

You are a funny joke! I bet you my Subaru would **** all over yours any day

Your car is probably detting its **** of & you probably dont even know about it. You sure got more knowledge then me
Did you mean 'Credibility'
I'm not sure in the current climate anyone can claim that, especially if there are question marks over your after sales support.
Duncan's mapping skills may well be very good but a call/email/pm to Martin over on 22b wouldn't go a miss just to help put the poor guys mind at rest.

Well, I really like Micaredwrx's car, but I also really like Kas Spec C's car.
There's only one way to sort this out!
