Something wrong with this thread, I've missed loads of posts ..

Alan, I'm not soft mate, if someone wants to drive it, they either put the money in my hand or show me the insurance.

If thats too much to ask, they can walk away, I'm not risking losing the lost for the sake of an idiot who wants to risk my car. Who's to say its not some **** who wants to try a fast car.

I would expect them to boot it too .. if they drove it .. the same as I would boot it for them.

Something that all sellers should be aware of; I spoke to my insurance company the other day about cover whilst test-driving cars and they told me something rather surprising.

We all assume that if you have fully comprehensive and the other party has insurance that we're covered to drive their car with their permission. Apparently, this only applies in emergencies and not for test-driving cars when buying. I took out a days insurance for £27 with eCar the other day when I was looking at a Scoob.

It's also worth noting that not all fully-comp insurance covers you to drive other cars anyway. Mine (with Markerstudy via A-Plan) doesn't although it's unusual.

Ive used 1 day insurance many times. Great idea. Especially when viewing cars to buy on a Sunday.
