I don't know whether people are aware but carbon fibre is effected by ultra violet light, as it starts to discolour and eventually degrade in direct sunlight without protection. A UV resistant polyurethane based paint covering is a must and extra sun filters like Kleers (car sun cream) can also help in summers months. So don't use untreated carbon fibre as you will be surprised how quickly it's ruined by UV light.
As it will live in a garage, will be protected with a cover whilst in the garage and whatever is needed. Just like any substance, it's not impervious to every day life.
PS is the Evo still fubar'd?

Dropping the car off for the carbon roof fitting on Monday. I know it's in safe hands but I am having little mouses heads. It's been de-flapped as I am still in two minds on re-fitting.
As I am upto my eyeballs for the next month Ryan (prodriverules) is looking after the car until I can get back up and as it's MOT time that will get done as well.

Even if you can't make your mind up Ian I would keep hold of it a little while, not easy to replace and either way you go you will have it if you decide to fit.
Thanks to a helpfull member posting a link for me I think I have found the perfect alloy spun trumpet for the fog cover, I've been looking all over and they all appear to have a rolled lip and will not sit flush on the cover but this one will do just that as it is not rolled

Hmm fibre glass or something similar has anyone got experiance with it here ?
I have got my bits for the CAI... Revotec alloy trumpet plus a trumpet that came on the end of the flexi pipe, now the flexi will not go on the Revotec trumpet very easy but the both trumpets fit together perfectly ( I'll post a picture in a minute) lets say I bonded the flexi pipe trumpet onto the inside of the fog cover and then I fit the revotec to the outside of the cover so the two slot into each other, the question is how to bond to inner ? I know this sounds a little long winded but I'm intending on getting the trumpets powder coated and when fitted and you look at them you will see the trumpet colour dissapear into the feed and not have a highly visible flexi pipe.

I've experienced first hand the problem with my car, the rear carbon spoiler blade and vortex generator have all been effected during the great summer we had last year. Just a heads up that it doesn't take much for the carbon to discolour without a UV filter.
My car is having it's map finished tomorrow if the weather isn't too bad.

I have been up to see Huw in WeeksWork and he's applying the clear chip protector with a ten year guarantee. It flexible, so will cover the curves, flap and bumps but was far cheaper than I thought, money well spent.

See people with those bonnet bra`s on cringe with looks and that they are damaging their paint.
This is the better option, seen a few cars with this on and unless you actually look you`ll not tell. And I`d be interested as I`ll have fresh paint lol.

This may change up or down as Huw as not had to buy the stuff before and as it will be the wider section the cost is estimated. To keep the finish, look and not worry about lacquer peel then, it's worth it.
