Right Then....

I don't mind having a look at some point at all I'm not ready yet with the cash flow and would prefer to look at tyre choice as well with whatever wheels I decide to go with as I'm thinking Milleniums at the minute with 225's on the only trouble I can see us a 235 tyre is a big price jump on top, plus it would be according to what you wanted for them as well.

Defo keeping the EVO for at least next summer now, so got a few plans for the next few months:
- Just ordered a load of stainless steel bolts to replace scabby looking one in the engine bay.
- Having some Ralliart Mudflaps for Xmas
- Hardwiring the Walbro Fuel pump
- Got some AMS 880cc injectors to fit
- Inlet Manifold is being modded, ported and painted crackle black.
- New turbo..... not decided which one yet
- Re-map, possibly different ECU

No worries Si, i'll PM you my number so you can give me a call when you're ready . I'm not far away, so would be worthwhile if just to get some idea of how they look.
You need to feel the weight of an 18" Millenium wheel before you make up your mind. They look stunning and very strong wheels, but downside is they're fookin' heavy (sorry Kev).
As for tyres, you can get a set of T1-R's in 235 40 18 for around £450 so not too bad + I could chisel a good price on the rims for ya

Thanks Steve I'll defiantly be interested in having a look at those, not only for style and fitment but for finish as well... With this car this time around I'm doing a small amount of mods but each one will be spot on first time.... Got the pm thanks for that

A great list of mods.... I don't want to guess the bhp but that's going to be big I bet ?

Power wise it will hopefully be 500+ im considering 2 turbos at the mo, one is S205B (EVO version of what Merv had on his car) these are generlly making around 525-550 on v-power...
The other is a brand new turbo (same make as my current one) which is still in final testing stages, should be available mid Jan, only one fitted in the UK so far and that made 530 on v-power and 570 with a splash of Meth, this turbo is Ball Bearing cored so should be more reliable and also spool very quickly

If going over 500bhp you may want to consider upgrading fuel pump Dean, as the Walbro will struggle to keep up at that level. I'm going for an Aeromotive/RCM pump in my Type R for safety even though only running at 420bhp ish

Seems on MLR that the walbro will cope fine at this level when hardwired...
Although Deutchwerks do a 300lph intank pump which I may go for...

Lots of people on here running high 400's with just an in tank walbro setup and no issues....
I ran a Walbro 255 in my Scoob and that was running a 2.5 with 960cc injectors at around 430/430 and running Meth so required more fuel than just SUL....
Are u still on a 2.0?? and what size injectors are u going to be using??

I see what you're saying guys, but having seen the results of fuel pump failure it's not an area i'm keen on compromising . The Walbro pump i'm using at the mo is 5-6 years old, so needs replacing anyway. For an extra £50 or so i can get an Aeromotive 300lph (same as RCM pump) so it's a no-brainer really, particularly with future upgrades in mind .
I'm running with a 2.5, md321t with APS TMIC + water/methanol injection at present making 390/400 at 1.3bar. Current setup is 550's at 3.5bar atmos, but they will be upgraded when the Simtek is installed in the spring.

Deutchwerks do an in tank one that's 300lph and areomotive do an in tank one that's 340lph... Think the deutchweks is bout £130 and the areomotive is bout £180

Yep 340lph, that's the one . Works out just under £140 all in after customs, so cant go wrong:-

Made the wiring loom up today to hard wire my fuel pump, fitted it all in the car ready to connect up.... Whilst i was in there decide to see what voltage the fuel pump was actually getting to see if hard wiring it was really necessary to my surprise its only getting 10.5V (when the engine is running should be getting 13.5V) so losing 3V across the cars wiring loom
After seeing it this low i've decide not to connect it up til it goes to be mapped next incase the extra 3V going to the fuel pump makes the car run rich...
This is a recognized problem on EVOs wonder if its the same on Subaru's???
Walbro's 255 are designed to flow 255l/ph at 13.5V so its obviously running no where near what its capable of....

Don't think I'd chance having the manifold chrome plated, unless they can guarantee none of the plating would get on the inside of the manifold....
Last thing u want is chrome flakes getting in ur engine...

Yeah that's basically what "hard wiring" is, use the existing supply to switch a relay with a direct feed from the battery with an in-line fuse, so the fuel pump will get the full 13.5v it should
The wiring is all in place now, just need to cut the supply and join to the loom before I get it mapped...
