That is true. If you crash because of him don't think you can say it was his fault and that he blinded you. Your insurance goes up as well.

I must admit, its a pet hate of mine, as I know its not supposed to be done. But I can honestly say I've never been blinded or dazzled by someones foglights. full beams on the other hand...

yep.... but fog lights can only be turned on with side lights or main headlight ON.

DRL's will be on.. without the need to have any other lights on.

trouble is some DRL do seem to be in possitions of fog lights

Why, oh why can't the manufacturers fit a latching relay in BOTH foglight circuits, so that you can have 'em on, but the moment you switch off the ignition, they are "unlatched" and go off. You would then have to CHOOSE to have them on again.........

Legislation should compel them to do it, it would cost about £1 per vehicle to implement.
Other option would be to have the fog-light switch interlocked with a speed limiter, say about 30mph.

Surely you don't drive fast if you think it's foggy.

I was on the road with a car the other day with front and rear fogs on, and he was wearing sunglasses.

Erm, if you are wearing sunglasses how foggy can it be?
