Had 4 and in order of favourites its best to not as good:-
1st Spec C
1st Spec C
3rd V5 STI type R
4th UK turbo PPP
Yup joint first, the spec c
its just a great road car
not found anything subaru that handles like it tbh, really precise and a great point to point weapon

standard 2 pot front brakes and single pot rear
like they would stop you with 360bhp

Ah but the last one was my first classic
bought that one new back in may 2000, but the classics are flawed, especially the uk turbo's, gearing etc, and the steering was horrid, it has/had a spot where sometimes you would get it too over sensitive that it felt numb, even the type r doesnt feel as sharp as the spec c, though the quick rack does help

Saving for a scoob and initial thoughts/looks always said newage, after time on here and stalking a few local cars im going to go classic. Dont have the knowledge of driving the different versions so cant comment on experience, but my first purchase will be a classic...
Just my opinion

I will be buying in the new year and atm will get a lot of car for not a lotta cash, definitely a buyers market atm, some real bargains around
I have MY03STI ppp and love it, 330 HP. But next year I will be looking for a nice classic, even though I have no idea how I am going to afford to run both, but where there is a will there is a way. It will still be the same fuel bill as I can only drive one at a time. I just can't bring myself to sell my blobeye so I'll just have to have another scooby.
I can't wait.

.....hang on a min, i'm not even in it - just looked out side, yep - still a fabia parked there
I have my wrxd and my classic turbo which I've owned new for over 11 years and just love the rawness of the classic it's the one that sits in the garage that stirs my emotions and when it gets fired up for its weekly 50 mile drive I just love it the way it raws and handles round the corners
Yes it's a old classic car rattle ,creaks ,goes like stink and the noises of the decatted flat four is great
Not an everyday car a waste to drive it on the motor way but still the greatest performance car and there is something special about driving a 11-18 year old car

Don't think I will ever sell it at any price as its been a great part of my last 11 years of motoring
