I beg to differ ......in manual mode you can downshift too much (as posted on some Bmw forums),but it takes a really dumbass to do it though

lol such worries here ...my daughter just graduated from Uni this summer , so only expence is my 944 project car !

I think the Bmw dealers are having a hard time in this climate as My local keeps ringing me to pop in and have a chat (they are very persuasive), so there are deals to be had .

I'll be working until I drop dead to get my kids through Uni

You're in a lucky position.

The new M3 should be interesting, it too will have a twin turbo engine

TG seem to like it but you do get the impression that whilst becoming a more competent car the F10 has lost some of the raw character of the E60

Hilarious comment in that article that says something like ' AMG and M power have faced off over the years with super saloons. Audi? Just a bit player'

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/f10...b-e63-amg.html

Autocar may well have the E63 AMG just ahead of the M5

Only on the natural aspirated M models. The 335's remap quite well and cheaply.

yr talking about just a remap of the ecu...I'm talking about Forged internals, supercharging ,big bore dinan conversions

aftermarket exhaust for a scoob average £3-400, aftemarket for a M3 £2500+ !!

no yr wrong as the Bmw "M" engines a very well builts (they can typically do 250K miles before a rebuild is needed ).
Bmw had turbo cars decades before Subaru started the trend , some on the Bmw forums are running superchargers making 600+ bhp on standard internals (no ideal how long their's will last though ), i personally would not run anything over 500 on a standard M3 engine .

they are expensive to tune because they are a premium brand (same as porsche/Audi/Mercedes etc etc) so everyone charges an arm and a leg for after market mods ,
