This is a bit like a witch hunt for the poor guy. He is proud of his car and people are trying to disprove and doubt. I know this is a forum and everyone is allowed their say, but just feels a bit unfair. I can understand why he's getting angry.

Just my opinion. Over and well and truly out. Lol.

Not a witch hunt i got my head bitten off for trying to help, few comments were a bit harsh tho, but biting someones head off for stating a fact is a bit much lol

Maybe the guy was.just upset that doubt had been shadowed over his pride and joy mate. Can understand that. Things get said that maybe shouldn't have been.

im literally starting to wonder why im having to justify myself to them :S tbh i dont even care lol!! One thing i know for sure is, the RA vents only exist on the RA's.. correct? well mine is certainly not aftermarket fitted.. i could look up the codes but im in a 4th floor flat and my daughter is in bed.. not happening basically, and on top of which i think i'd rather not say and just let everyone bitch its funny all the other scooby forums im on are just laughing at them all and how predicatable this response is as my scooby is not blue with gold wheels .. so so childish ..and yea sometimes im not even intending to snap but theres just some idiots on here that must live such shallow and sheltered lives that they feel they can only have an arguement or a strong opinion when its over the internet "keyboard warriors" no doubt wouldnt be so opinionated in something others like to call reality

lets just stop the 21 questions about what the car is and isnt

it is what it is now, not what it was when it was born whether it was an RA, an STi, WRX S201, bla bla bla whatever its a classic scooby and what it is today realistically is none of the above, theres nothing left on it thats standard every part has been replaced on this car, its been stripped and re-built powder coated, all parts are replaced with alloy alternatives, the engine isnt what was in it in production, the brakes have changed, the suspension is different, the body is different, the colour is different..

It is what it is today - a beast

Well said! i do think people on here can be petty and pathetic about things!

Simon best thing to do mate is ignore it and dont rise to it, if you bite you will get a come back.
Its your car you like it don`t worry about what certain others think!.
On the other foot this is a public forum you will get people who have different tastes when it comes to cars, so you do have to be prepared to get flamed if you do have something different, although some people could have a bit more "tact" when giving comments!, that said anyone can "give it" when hiding behind a keyboard.

Carry on with the project thread bud update as and when you can, try not to bite to the non constructive negative comments, you will find alot of folk on here can be genuine and helpfull.

All the best with the car chap.

Thought you said you were the first owner and imported the car yourself? How would you know the original owner?

i may as well be the first owner - i didnt bother complicating the details as he only had it for a couple of months and is my brother in law, and i was with him for the purchase anyway, and tbh i couldnt be bothered to say the above.

why the hell does everyone on here only ever look for the negative.

sad... very sad

ignore mate ignore ;0.

A member since 2006 with a post count of 64 and throwing crap on peoples project threads!!, not worthy of a response bud.

Mark built the turbo for a guy over on 22b mate for his project, he asked for a large rotated turbo that would spool well on a 2.1 but flow masses of air, it has a gt35 compressor housing a gt40 core with .82 hotside god knows why its called a gt30 lol.
Only mark knows the exact specs of it im afraid.

if he questions it more i wont bother, i didnt even want to have to explain what i did already as it just seemed pointless with all the haters on here lol.

i see - well i've seen it and it certainly looks impressive LOL (god i sound like a girl saying that), and after a bit of research looking at other gt3040's and their prices £1k certainly sounds attractive if you are serious!

I could be chap will let you know asap, you will need a rotated set up to run this turbo though which will require, rotated t4 flange uppie rotated down pipe, external wastegate, you`ll also need an fmic, poss lift the inlet manifold for the pipework, an uprated fuel system etc.

any of the electric pack could be ordered at first registration as afactory option on ANY scoob, so although RA's definately didn't have leccy windows, etc. as std - many had the option ticked and fitted......

as someone else mentioned the model code would be a good starter but from what you have fitted its potentially an STi RA rather than the more std RA??

Someone's gone through an awefull lot of trouble to drill the rear quarter and change the rear screen and put a wiper in. Don't tell me they fitted electric folding mirrors too.

As Rich D said I still don't like it.

strange one this. its got dccd and the roof vent making it an ra
leccy windows makes it an ra v limited but never seen a grey one before. i thought all the v-limited were blue
also i think the block is a semi closed deck, there are 2 extra supports for the cylinders, the real closed decks only came on v1,2.

think im going to fit refit my Ariel on my ra there too, heard it gives you 450bhp, and adding the rear wash wipe aids down force lol
