Just because he doesn't mention it, doesn't mean it doesn't HAVE one.

Not saying they are the quality of Defi, but I'm very happy with both the looks and performance of the Depo ones I got through the groupbuy.

Why are defis so expensive for something that seems to me to be pretty basic, or am I missing something ?

I've contacted them and it's just the unit and they don't have any of the wiring for them

Sorry, but this makes no sense. Has the wiring been cut off? It comes out of a hole in the rear of the unit, it doesn't disconnect, or come off in any way, ,unless it's been cut..and why would anyone do that?.

Ask them if there are ANY wires sticking out of the rear of the unit, there should be a bundle of four, red, orange, white and black.

Defi's, without a doubt

They're a bit on the expensive side though, the other brand I would look into would be STRI's.

Yeah im in the process of getting some gauges atm, i have my Defi centre pod in a view to getting defi gauges but they are sooooo damn expensive when compared to say Prosport which look very similar, plus with the prosport you dont have to get the extra control unit so even more expense!!

I know everyone says pay the extra, as their easier to fit and alot more tidy cable management but what are the other advantages?, i would probably say their probably a tad more accurate than prosport but we're talking aout analog gauges here not digital!, so that argument is no void really!!??

Your looking at paying over 3 times as much for Defi when compared to 3 prosport gauges, myself i just cant justify that really, as long as they are installed correctly then the prosports should be fine!????

To be honest often wondered this question myself, appreciatte Defis are the Rolls Royce off gauges but as you have pointed out possibly a tad more accurate than there cheaper rivals.

take for instance these seen on ebay, obviously very oppositte end off the market but are these going to be any less accurate / reliable ?? okay only £20 but you get a lot off technology now for £20 !!

After 2 years of owning the gauges, my prosport boost gauge is starting to become inaccurate when reading psi.

I had Defi but switched to SPA Design as more accurate and can measure more variables with less gauges. Not as pretty though...

That Premium or Performance series also electric or mechanical? Doesnt Prosport offer 3-5 years guarantee?

With Defis you get extras: you can set your own peaks, with an audible and visible alarm if breached, you can check what peak values the car has had during any run, and you can record a few minutes of driving, to see what the gauges did in that time, check boost levels, oil pressure etc, all recorded for you.

You can also link the fuel pressure gauge to the boost gauge to show differential pressure, which saved my engine this summer in France

Defis are the Rolls Royce, yes, but you pay for it.

Face it, you run a Scoob.........you COULD have had a chavved up Saxo VTS...........

There are other gauges out there, but be careful, it's even more expensive to buy them and STILL want the Defis, LOL.

To be fair the Prosport Premium's do all that bar the 3 minute record feature....which is a fairly good feature but not worth the price again in gauges in my opionion

I don't think it's the premium one (where you set the light to come on at a certain psi), and the one I have is a mechanical one. I might have to look into that guarantee thingy but it's been so long since I bought it.

How much do Prosport Premiums go for?

My Defis were around the £100 mark when I bought the first three, and around £120 when I got the two 52mm ones, which was two years ago.

Google it: there was a You-tube video of how to open up defi gauges to change the colour , some American guy. Maybe find the same for the controller. Doing the gauges involved soldering.
