Mine was a 2003 model, Thor, - pre stitched seating.
It'd give a little tug when booted in 2nd or 3rd but nothing overtly bad.
I remember evo's original conclusion - until a guy off the RSOC gave them his car to try, and left them baffled as to why some did, some didn't.
They gave it more stars after that, but with a warning...
I'd still have a Mk1 FRS over a GT-R...

I've never had an issue with torque steer; so it fights you a bit.. Wow...stop being a wuss and fight back! LOL
What I take issues with big BHP and FWD is not being able to get all the power down on a damp road when I want to make a quick getaway...especially when I want to boot it out of the busy junction where I need to give it the full beans on a daily basis (or endure a 5+ minute wait for a big enough gap in traffic). There is only so much 'throttle mapping' that can be done to mask this limitation.

at the end of the day car manufacturers need to cater for brand followers that they have across all parts of the wealth curve. This is why cars like the Subaru Cosworth and Ford Rs500 are made. anyone who thinks that it's due to brand heritage etc etc is very misguided - this is not bugatti we are talking about. Customers who are toward the top of the wealth curve want something a bit special and 50k is a premium worth paying. It was the same with Mitsubishi and the FQ400 ... owners at different stages of the wealth curve had different views towards the car and the price. But the people buying it didn't give a hoot about depreciation or running costs, because if you are in the position to be able to purchase a car in excess of 50k (a performance car like the subaru cosworth) and maintain it properly in sync with the way it is being driven then, to be perfectly frank, the thought of who owns it after you is not something in the decision process. This is why such arguments (with special editions) are a bit pointless because the people buying them don't care. The people who can't afford them tend to dislike from the start because they can't understand the motivation of someone to buy one when 'you can just buy standard and mod up' and that is the way it is with all brand followings.

as a car company you want to maximise your customer base ... you do it through cars such as those mentioned in this thread. They cater for a different type of client with different views and opinions on what is and is not prudent. Depreciation is not pertenant with such cars, therefore I don't see why such heated debates crop up about the subject? The drop in the value of the RS500 or indeed the subaru cosworth may seem huge but to the people that bought them I would guess the great majority really don't care

While you are banging, think about this.
I am an ice cream man. I sell 99s for £1. I can see you are well up for a 99 so i decide as I am the only ice cream man round, I will sell it to you for £2. S straight away you have thrown a quid away because you love Mr Whippy.
Then you realise you need a quid for bus fare home (no, you haven't been on Bullseye), and little Tommy, knowing how much you want to go home to use your own toilet, offers you a quid for it. You agree.
So, you blew an extra quid on the 99, so there isa virtual 1 quid loss in your mind, then you sell the ice cream to Tommy for a quid (the one that you value at £2), and there is the real £1 loss.
At least though, you can have a **** at home.

I think your on your own with that analogy Myles
I am impressed with the lack of depriciation on the RS though especially considering how many are out and about. Many on PH and AT for low £20k's at 2yrs old. Shame as if they'd dropped more I might fancy one in white.

Possibly bud, (not possibly but most probably!) but Millymollymandy sat on it for two weeks before coming back with his razor sharp comment. I did ask him to keep up, but a fortnight is OTT!

I wonder what how much I would save if I didnt bother with cars and just got taxis everywhere? I recon with the depreciation it costs me + wife £4500 a year!
Insurance £2000,
Tax and petrol £1500
Depreciation £1000
