focus rs500 lost so much money..

It'll never be held in the same esteem as the RS500, same as the 22B, Integrale, Quattro, M3 E30 either. No pedigree and I dont personally dont think it brings anything new to the table.
I was followed by a white one some time back which booted past me, it looked like a washing machine.

Mmm, time will tell. I think we are looking at £30k in 3 years time.
Then a slow decline to about £10k over the following 10 years.
Might then start to see values pick up after that, probably.
A 2010 Focus RS in 2023 will be worth about £4k I reckon.
Its hadly an investment, but I dont think its going to drop like a stone.
IMHO!

Not on the same level obviously !! but seen a one owner 2003 mazda rx8 for sale the other day, full mazda service history and just over 32k on the clock at just £2700.
thats what you call depreciattion !! yet to here off anyone who has kept one for longer than a couple off years at most !!
but yep totally agrea with the above poster re values off the rs in years to come.
dont seem particularly rare the amount you see up for sale ??!!

Aye. If it was AWD I think it would have had a stronger following. The crying shame is the chassis IS AWD capeable - you can swing a cat under the rear axle and still have room to store a few illegal immigrants under there ( Its a similar issue with the Scirocco R, but that's for another thread).
This kind of car is never going to be a strong seller especially as its not really adding anything that beneficial over a sorted ST. Its just another special edition.

Looks so much better without the black stick backed plastic on it !
35 grand was always ambitious for a Focus, however talented, with only 2wd, however effective.

If you pay £50,000 for summat and then sell it for £35,000, you lose £15,000...and that's it. The only thing loosing £15,000 is 'LIKE', is loosing £15,000.

Its not logic, you plum. If something costs 35k and you pay 15k over the odds for it because you want it, you are in effect throwing away 15k just for wanting it. If you then sell it for 35k (its true worth at sale, before you add your 'I want it' tax), it will feel like losing 30k.

While you are banging, think about this.
I am an ice cream man. I sell 99s for £1. I can see you are well up for a 99 so i decide as I am the only ice cream man round, I will sell it to you for £2. S straight away you have thrown a quid away because you love Mr Whippy.
Then you realise you need a quid for bus fare home (no, you haven't been on Bullseye), and little Tommy, knowing how much you want to go home to use your own toilet, offers you a quid for it. You agree.
So, you blew an extra quid on the 99, so there isa virtual 1 quid loss in your mind, then you sell the ice cream to Tommy for a quid (the one that you value at £2), and there is the real £1 loss.
At least though, you can have a **** at home.

The day you buy it: pay £50k, worth £35k, so loose £15k
The day you sell it: worth £35k, receive £35k, loose zero
Net loss £15k

The way I am seeing it in my mind is you physically lose 15k, but in my mind I will also be haunted by the fact I paid 15k over the odds for it in the first place. Please just humour me!

Like bollox you did!
I must be Charles Atlas then (and I'm not) as I never had a problem with mine.
Yes it torque steered, but no way as bad as some liked to make out.
General journo over-hype.
And mine was Bluefinned.
