You stick with your 900mhz ipad, i'll stick with my 1.5ghz latest revision snapdragon.

That is quite interesting.
I still don't see the point of tablet computers yet. Not if you already have a laptop/netbook.

It's a toy.

Keep using your noggin and you'll get it. I arrived abroad yesterday, bought a data only sim at the airport tenner for 1.5gb, haven't unzipped my laptop bag, expenses up to date on my spreadsheet, dozens of emails, all the posts above, read a book and watched a film on the plane, found cashpoints, found the apartment and navigated to it, just found out what that bright star is, ordered pizza, now I might just play a game because it's a great toy.

It is to a degree, i bought it in the firesale not quite knowing what id need it for.

But now i have it, i do get the whole point of them, granted there is a lack of apps but it's slowly getting there, and a dual boot android port is on the way, they have today managed to get the touchscreen using 2.3.5.

Plus it saves me from turning the big rig on, which is a power hungry thing.

Not to mention if i go anywhere, i'll always have it at my disposal to save on those boring moments.

Going back to the whole Apple thing,

Good luck to Apple is what I say. If people are that dumb that they actually think they NEED an Iphone / Ipad etc etc etc etc etc, then more fool them. Iphones and Ipads are massively overpriced imo. I have friends who seem to revolve their entire life around their Iphone and don't understand when I don't get a hard-on about an app that tells me what my horoscopes are. Personally, I own an Ipod shuffle, but to be honest, I've had it for the last 3 years and its been totally faultless, even after being dropped down a toilet.

Yes I do, it's my office telephone via Skype In, anyone can call my London number and get through to me where ever I am in the world, I can see my close friends and family are online and talk to them. I've started using FaceTime a little too, I'm no fan of video conferencing but others want to see my handsome face so I have to go along with it.

Or you could have just used a combination of planning ahead and a bit of common sense, like people used to do back in the day. People rely on technology way too much these days, then when it stops working, which, inevitably, it will, they don't know what to do, start flapping, then start panicking, then look like a **** because they've no idea where they are, what to do or who to speak to. Prime example - Sat nav. I know people that will not even get into a car without a sat nav. A very sad state of affairs if you ask me.

Perhaps "Apple positive sites" are the only places where you'll find news worthy for the fanboys. The sites I posted are not affiliated to any technology companies that are neither negative nor anti towards Apple, they're just impartial news sites. (apart from the last link)

It's a same people didn't google bomb to do what they did when you searched for french war victories, only to throw up no results and ask did you mean french war defeats.

Instead with apple positives/negatives

I think we are all in agreement then, Apple do some average products, but are a million miles away from the competition in every aspect.

Obvious really.

apple's success isn't about being the best technology. for the mobile devices, they offer a macrocosm of simplicity and uniformity.

my kid has an android phone. the other day he went onto the android Market place to buy an app, only to be told his android phone wasn't compatible and he had the correct version of android too!!

the tech is irrelevant now without the application support.

What competition? Who else makes hardware and software? PC space, no one that I know. Mobile, RIM and Nokia are bleeding.

That's what you and a lot of other 'computer users, non technical' fail to see.

Apple fanboys are a lot like extreme Christians, no matter how much conclusive proof you have, they'll never back down.

Hmmm, not one to state the obvious....a phone.

My PA will be here soon, sent her on the red eye whilst I work by the pool. My iPad is my desk phone, nice to have a landline and a mobile.

Are you actually serious with this comment?
Adding +1 to any spec is exactly what its all about. That is innovation, not imitation otherwise it would be a cheap knockoff which didn't do anything.
Nothing on the iphone is groundbreaking away from previous phones. It isn't the first touch screen, its just bigger, compare the 3gs to the 3. +1, compare the 4 to the 3gs, +1 again.

Why be happy flying to new york when you can fly to the moon? Airplane +1 = Space Shuttle.

Apple managed to get a market share and catch the others on the back foot which is why its taken time for them to really get the competition going in the market.

iCloud was massivly overdue and had already been on offer under different names through different retailers for ages.

If apple OS is so brilliant why dont we run servers and server farms on it?
Yet it is something you can do on Linux and Microsoft?
