No, it really is a sh*t analogy! what seems to go over your head is everything computers except your blinkered, unwavering and undying love of all things Apple!

Yes, but it's the same homogenised food that tastes exactly the same whatever you order, cooked by the same chef, served by waiters that all sing and dance around you "high fiving" each other and it's the same which ever estabilishment of theirs you go to. Sure they'll come up with a new dish now and again and with great fanfare, but it'll still taste the same. As a result you'll tire of it pretty soon.

You can't really say that Samsung has "past" Apple when all they've done is used some free software, taken the iPhone hardware and added 1 to it's spec. Genius if you don't mind that sort of thing. I fund Innovation, you benefit from imitation, it's all good.
Jon, you're right, that is how I like my computers and it's the future, rather than custom car complete with flames and neon I want to be able to sit at the same screen using the same software with my content stored remotely. Against what you may think I don't care what it looks like as long as it works, you could call this next revolution cloud something, or iCloud, let's see.
Call me what you like, but someone here has to defend against the geeks who've fallen for the anti Apple marketing campaign, convincing people to spend less on knock off hardware using free software. Apple make my task easy, ask anyone who's switched.

Nothing revolutionary or innovative about iCloud. Apple announced iCloud platform in June of this year, finally jumping on the bandwagon with Windows and Linux amongst others who have offered this platform for a few years now. Ubuntu One and Windows Azures platforms have been around since 2009, but I'm sure with Apple's marketing clout they'll make it their own and iCloud will be then next buzz word.
There are no anti-Apple marketing campaigns that I know of, being free thinking does not make one anti-Apple.

ive used a Mac computer for years for music production-years before they became 'cool'..errr sorry..'on trend'. i use a Mac simply because of the Operating System..its always been far superior in terms of stability, useability, and integration with outboard equipment. This is what is was designed to do and it does it very well. However, all this evangelical, utopian, born again magical marketing guff that Apple spew out is utter, utter, embarassing bollox..and ppl/sheep that buy into this lifestyle hype nonsense are fkn idiots. they are an electronics company that are interested in making money, not in elevating spirituality of your human existence. they make great stuff but i wouldnt buy it because of a label. the same goes for the Scooby..i hate the chavvy image but i STILL own one, and im 40!
dont be swayed by the brand, ask yourself if it does what you need it to, they way you need it to. Jobs(worth) and (master)Gates are both A hole imvho.

Yeah I thought android was the dogs danglies, but for a tablet webOS is really hard to beat, I just hope it takes off.
Not to mention it runs flash and html5, and has full corporate it coverage.
Unlike everyone else

Ya talking bollox again.
HP is still developing Webos and will continue to do so. If you have a WebOS tab then a 3rd party is developing Android to run on it. HP has only stopped the WebOS hardware production.

Who's developing "for" WebOS tablets then? WebOS may well continue to be developed but I very much doubt anyone is considering developing for a platform that even the owners have kicked to the curb.

I bought a macbook air because i was impressed by how well my wife's macbook pro worked, and guess what it did not fall over get a virus or require constant updates or patches to do what it was supposed to and she has had it about 18 months now, iv'e had my air about 8 months and not even the slightest problem, did a software update and it is still doing exactly what it is supposed to, for me that is a revalation after years of phone calls and beers for friends to come and sort my pc's that fall over and go **** up at every opportunity.
And i might even stump up for an iphone not because of a lifestyle but because i am a convert to seamless operation and have found a product that gives me confidence to do things that i would never have the guts to do for fear of loosing everything on my computer.
I don't think i'm a mug, but i would be if i spent another penny with mr gates, after the thousands iv'e spent over the years i really don't get why people hate apple, when in realality they are an inovotive company that provide things people want, yeh there are always going to be mug's that go for the latest fashion item trying to stay ahead of the crowed and in fact are just a part of said crowed, when i saw the line of people waiting for the new iphone i just thought what a bunch of sad *******, i would never stand in line for 5/6 hours to get some new gadget just so i could show it off to my friends, and the funniest thing is these self styled trend setters are all wearing the same high street fashion uniform and not one of them could see the irony of their sad exsistance.
More power to apple for seeing this aspect to human nature and exploiting it, and as long as they keep making products that work i will keep buying them, just as i did when motorola, panasonic and nokia made the best phones not because it was fashionable but because it's false economy to buy or not to buy something based on it's price and i'm not wealthy enough to buy rubbish that does not perform the required task to my satisfaction over and over again.

Sorry don't quite understand what you're saying, all i can see is bollox
As wurzel says, hp are still developing webOS, in fact they are now putting more than ever into it, with the success of the firesale.
Not to mention i see apps cropping up faster than ever, now touchpad owners outstrip the ipad.
You stick with your 900mhz ipad, i'll stick with my 1.5ghz latest revision snapdragon.

You're kidding right? You can't seriously think they stopped producing that machine and gave away the stock because it's a fantastic piece of kit, please tell me you don't think it was some sort of planned for smart move? When you're putting more into something is it normal to take the staff away? How many did HP give away? I seriously doubt they'd produced more than iPads have been sold.
And please don't try to play the silly numbers game, that HP thing never worked no matter how many hertzes are in it's processor, and that's what counts.

Hp doesn't work, riight didn't watch the vs ipad 2 video did we
The rumour is, the firesale happened because a licensee refused to use webOS as hp was making their own hardware, and they saw it as a threat thus refused to support it, rumored to be htc/samsung seeing as they're heavily vested into android.
As for numbers, they're not releasing, but the staff have dropped hints it's more than apple, and they are continuing to make touchpads, until the hardware eventually runs out, which is why you still see stock cropping up.
Atm it's upwards of 600k tablets sold last week, this is factoring in what stock the major retaillers have sold off, it'll be more but hard to figure out an exact figure.
