You know my history ex GTR master Tech but I used to work for a Porsche specialist years ago too so love both cars.
My question is : Why do all GT3 owners try to compare there car to the standard GTR R35 when it should be compared to the standard 911 turbo ?
Your car is the GT3 RS it should be compared to the GTR V Spec in my eyes, they are based on the same Idea, a track variant of the standard road car, and my point is the V Spec is even quicker than the standard GTR so why always compare the two ??

Don't know what spec your GT3 RS is, but GTR has useable boot, rear seats, heated electric leather front seats, hard drvie, dual climate control, automatic wipers, auto headlamps, proper interior door handles, enamel badges haha

See what your saying but i don't think a picture tells the whole story. If Nissan want to give me a black GTR to help me form an opinion then i guess i'd have to accept

Exactly my point about the GTR
It's much faster than the M3 too my mates very words that day were " It will need to be some car to beat the speed of the M3 " after he jumped in the drivers seat and we pulled out the drive and he pressed the fun pedal he said " Holly S@$T F@%K me that's much faster than the M3 how much is it I want it " hahaha
So just shows until you have driven one you don't know how quick they can be..

I didn't once contemplate a GT3, it was far more expensive than I could justify, I couldn't fit my work stuff in it, and I don't think it would be the ideal car in a Scottish climate. I did consider the Turbo, it felt smaller and had a much better ride quality, but I was looking at a model coming out of warranty that needed tyres and brakes for more than the price of a new GTR. I would have struggled to get my stuff in it, but it was mainly price vs age vs condition. Track or acceleration times make no odds. I actually find hard braking on the GTR makes it feel a little unstable at the back, and in standing water it is terrible. It is oddly very impressive in the snow, and just damp road it pulls considerable g forces but doesn't feel dramatic, so when it does slide in the wet you are surprised how easily it does so, then you look down and see 0.6g and realise why. In the dry I still reach corners and think I'll fall off yet it still exceeds my expectation as to just how hard you have to fling it about to slide in the dry.
The servicing costs aren't bad at Nobles if you supply your own oil, remind them they are wonderful and negotiate hard.

I have noticed that although the GTR is absoulutely insanely quick, the owners strive to increase power and driveability. Whereas Porsche change the odd back box but that is about it. Is it the Jap car owner mentality?

I guess when it comes down to spending £400 on a y-pipe and £700 on a COBB and you can get at least 15% more power over stock it is a no brainer. Porsche exhaust probably double what the GTR owner can spend and won't yield the same return in performance hike
