How can I adjust my dump valve?
#31
Have had a bailey dump valve on mine for over three years with no probs at all. Turbo stall is only caused when there is no dumpvalve fitted, this is because when the throttle is closed there is no where for the excess pressure to go apart from back through the turbo thus causing turbochatter or for better words trying to stall the turbo (ruins bearings and snaps shafts). The only detrimental differences between a vta and a recirc dump valve is that the vta dumps metered air to atmosphere and makes a noise, Where as the recirc dumps the metered air back into the inlet tract thats it! One resulting factor to having a vta dump valve is that it can put the fuelling out a little or a lot so may need a remap, running problems can occur if the vta valve is a cheap 'n' nasty one or just if the seals are goonered, thats my take on it anyway.

So, no problems but fuel metering can go bad, you may need a re-map and the air does not end up where it is supposed too!
