The Thomas Crown Affair remake was good I thought.
Sticking with the Steve McQueen theme; it's not a modern thing, going back fifty years - The Magnificent Seven (1960), six years after Seven Samurai.

I thought War of the worlds was a briliant success, I know it was a remake of a 1953 classic but it did do it justice IMO.

Friday 13th. Remake surprisingly entertaining!
Texas chainsaw massacre. Has this been remade; original was awful
Amiteyville horror. As above
Halloween. Remake of one was quite bold and not bad, remake of two was beyond ****e!
The hills have eyes. Haven't seeen either!
I spit on your grave. Saw the first one..... no intention of watching the remake!

Agreed, another "Cruise" vehicle. They had the oppertunity to make a cracking version, but turned it into a cgi fest, very poor.
Trouble is whoever they cast, was always going to struggle given most of us grew up with Jeff Waynes interpritation, and casting
The remake followed Well's book more closely, (Intro etc)

Someone asked me once if I'd seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I knew they were referring to the remake as it had just been released.
I said that I'd seen the "original" and they looked at me gone-out not realising what they'd seen was a remake.
Fools!

I watched the original Thomas crown affair properly last year, and thought it was good.
The remake... well ive seen bits of it, but held off, until i'd seen the original
TBH I prefer the original,

It depresses me watching the remakes sometimes.I love Carpenter films and every time a new remake gets made ie assault on precinct 13,Halloween,the fog etc,I want it to be good or compliment the original, but they just f@ck it up-almost every single time.
I know that Carpenter produced the remake,so i can only assume that money is the motivator for a lot of the remakes...
The hills remakes,I thought, were quite good. But the rape/revenge films like I spit and last house-well you can't polish a turd-they were of their time...
The most depressing is the remake of the evil dead announced recently-why???

The trouble with a remake is that you've already had the "initial experience" through the original version so it has to be very, very good with mind blowing acting and special effects for it to be considered better than the original as the script will largely be the same.

Well Evil Dead 2 was a remake of the original,if they keep to the similar low budget and Bruce Campbell as Ash don't particular mind them re doing it.
Looking forward to the Thing as the original 50s and Carpenter versions were great imo think there was a rumour that they would be trying to use more physical special effects not completely CGI.

A_Team was actually .... ok i thought
I aint looking forward to a reboot of spiderman, they're doing the same with superman. The whole DC universe has changed (updated with the times). Expect a reboot of every superhero. (its a way of making money go round along with capturing a newer audience i suppose)
