Right will do an update... havent taken the photo's as dad had the camera... Downpipe is bolted to the turbo... Just needs bolting up under the car...

Have P clipped all pipes to box sections etc...

Still to do...

Make lambda link / afr..

Fit lower strutbrace..
Fit boost gauge.
Put an ecu in the car.. and remap..
Connect power for water Injection.
Fill nitrous bottle and devise a control system...
Fit new injectors and source new rails..
Top up gearbox oil that has leaked out.
Oil Change
FMIC..
Sort Out a dumpvalve.. Not sure if I want atmospheric anymore..
Fit new coils from austrailia when they arrive..
Fit New Sparkplugs..
Modify MY98 >+ HT Leads.. for new Coils... (going to sit on chassis leg or similar area.)
Devise a Crankcase breather set up...

Any more?

went to buy some ally sheeting... the guy that runs this place imho Next to ace body builders in morley is a ****... Over £100...

Went to see the guy that welded throttlebody on to inlet and he said go see chris and rjh engineering or rjh fabrication (one or other ) in morley... £23 for a massive sheet... even cut it into four so we could get it in a vectra.. Then met his welding supplier... and he said give me a call if you need anything and gave me his card...

Just goes to show.. that If your nice to people and enjoy doing what you do for a living.. it can really make someones day...

Got a bargain... Best learn how to weld better now..

Your dad must have a chart that he marks down all the journeys, and then a conversion that gives a total in pints.

I had a good look at the MRT intercooler while I was at PE, which looks to be real nice, and good value too, I think they said introductary offer of £1000inc vat. Similar to the APS but with all stainless tubing, quite tempted actually.

If you are using Al tubing, Pace do a range of radius bends, which you can cut into angular segments to put into your pipe runs, quite expensive though, I imagine getting some custom bent parts would be easier.

That's one thing I liked about Oz, you want a radiator, exhaust or car part, you go to the local industrial area, and there will be an independant place and you can just get em to do odd jobs cash in hand or what ever, none of this £50 for a bit of bend tube rubbish, and they could often do stuff on the spot for you.

Rant over.

Yeah I know they used thicker, but I dont think it really needs to be thicker than it is.. time will tell and I think pat's and friends methods are neater..

Anyway people just been to my local scooby dealership and just come back with some bolts as the local bolt shop was closed... anyway came back with...

2 Syncro's (1st 2nd) for my gearbox.
1 O/S New Clear HeadLight
1 Pocket Full of Nuts and Bolts...
1 P1 Front Splitter Slightly Damaged..

How much do you reckon???

Less than £100 and thats all im saying (P1 Splitter cost me Less than £40)

Also put a bid in on an 6 Speed Box with 1800Miles... Also getting a N/S Headlight, New style Bumper, and new style bonnet.

I'll post some pics of the splitter later.

David

Lookin good David Where are you going to inject the NOS ?

Can I recommend some sort of RPM and boost 'switches' that inhibit the NOS until a minimum RPM is achieved then deactivate it after a certain boost pressure. This will save an expensive bang !

What have you done about a clutch ? My experiences with NOS have been very hard on clutches, a 50hp shot is actually 50 bhp 'anywhere' in the rpm range ie, at 3000 rpm that's an extra 87lb-ft torque ! Feels superb but takes a lot of holding !

WRT the downpipe, it looks like it has 2 lambda bosses already on it, which would be perfect for the wideband, unless of course you put the second one in yourself!

Yea, that sounds OK. It's not a problem at 25hp but when you start to get up the numbers a bit it can be quite critical not to fire it at low rpm. Have seen V8's lift their heads and blow off intake manifolds.....gulp !
