Why did subaru stop doing the imprezas in blue? by time i can afford subaru insurance im going to have to buy a 08 subaru impreza which will be 10 years old. lets not ignore the fact of how ugly the new impreza look compared to the 03-07 impreza's

this really saddens me
I do know how you feel, being a bit older (19, about to hit 20) I've loved Imprezas since the 555 McRae days.. And to be honest I've been quietly optimistic about getting one. Although the insurance has completely shafted me.. if you're willing to tone down the power I've just bought an 06 Hawkeye 2.0r in WR blue.. looks the part in my opinion but doesn't have a silly insurance price tag! And if you work hard, definitely affordable by 20 . About 1600 for the year I'm now paying.. worth every penny. Something to consider until you can afford a turbo powered one?

Reddish blue is a unique colour, my old Impreza was that colour. Always looks so different in different lights and in pics / the way you look at it.

Hey, thanks for this information, i would be happy with just a non turbo impreza, £200 for a turbo looking bonnet from the subaru garage along with £130 for the STI spoiler, i was looking at the 1.5r hatchbatch (not my favourite but has a subaru logo on) and that was insurance group 12 and my 1.2 corsa c starter car is currently £130 a month... my dad as policy holder :/ im currently working full time so hopefully a few pay rises and a couple of years i may also own a 2.0r i hadnt noticed many non-turbo cars around Could you let me know the insurance group of your 2.0r and the avg mgp your getting mate, cheers

I have a 2.0 Sport Special and it's insurance group 13. I get around 30-35mpg.

I think it's easier to ask what budget you have and what you actually want from the car, age, mileage, economy, insurance group as low as possible?

yeah, ermm, anything from blob eye 03 to the hawkeye, really dislike the 11 models, i could get away with a hatchback but preferably a saloon not really fussed about mileage and i can see myself feeling 6/7/8k max for the car. not too fussed about wanting to hit 100 in 2 seconds :P just something that is a impreza!

like i said, im full time employment, ive passed so many subarus i can afford the car, but 9/10 they are WRX STi models costing me my left nut for the insurance

Hope you can help me out getting my dream car!

Insurance group 13 is correct, I'll have to let you know the MPG when I actually get to drive it! The insurance is only affordable on my 20th Birthday which is on the 20th of July this year.. that's when my insurance is set to start so you'll know where I'll be at 1 minute past midnight!

I'd recommend the 2.0r highly as it looks so much like the WRX version. Also they're faster than the older sports, some of the classics I was looking at were 0-60 in 12 seconds whereas this is is 8 seconds. I know you're not worried about speed but it's nice to have a bit of it!

You could probably afford a classic scooby sport prior to 20 years old, what with them being slower so if you like them.. have a look! If you want, I'll send you some pictures of mine, just gimme a PM and we can have a chat about it .

Only problem with the replica's remember is that the insurance will be almost as high as a real one, for the simple fact that it looks like a WRX and is just as desirable to thieves as one .

Funny you should say that, I saw one at the NBO last month and commented how good they look in red as it was the 1st time i`d seen one, Nice motor you have there ,

Out of interest what did you buy instead of that one at Litcho`s?

Gaz.

You just don't see any red Imprezas anymore. Must be down to all the faded classics out there.
