Litchfield sell the forge kit

yeh good point Anders! Trying to keep these cars cool is their only weakness, i like the idea if oil coolers because that increases capacity too, having said that highest i have got the gearbox was 126degrees at brands hatch after 10 hard laps, Silverstone only got upto 117, tyres get pretty warm too, these cars are too heavy to do sustained track time.....

Here's a thread on the forge cooler

http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/143262-fo...ed-tested.html

Good point on tyres after fitting the oil cooler to keep transmission temps down, do the tyres go off anyway?

it was the forge cooler kit,

a very good piece of kit app, he said he used to peak around 130 degrees on track, the cooler fitted he never got higher than 109 degrees, so a considerable drop.

he uses an america oil for the gearbox around $60 per litre, but when he canged it out last time, when fitting the kit it was actually still in very good condition,

he sold the cooler kit for £1500 last week lol so some one got a bargin, he did say the circulation pump was noisy but doesnt kick in till 100 degrees anyway

Any good oil cooler for transmission is good cooler,i've run 4EAT(autobox) with tiptronic and paddle shift on my Impreza and i've fit Mocal Oil cooler for gearbox and temps has significantly drop.

For Oil coolers i would suggest Think Automotive,i bough from them

I can't see the higher revs harming it, each engine is run a 7,000rpm for 10 minutes in the factory as part of it's initial bed-in!

I'm aiming to have mine by weekend of 10th Sept.

25 miles till 600 miles.......... CANNOT WAIT!! My manual even states "Drive with engine speed kept relatively high, shifting is recommended between 1 and 4 gears".... does that mean try to stay in gears 1-4??

Nice pics

That fuel flow gauge should have a small pound sign on the left and massive one the right, lol.

The manual is p1ss poor for such an important part of the cars life. Wtf does 'relatively' high mean? What rpm will 80mph motorway give in 4th?

I'd Keep the boost down (if that's possible) when your doing the 6K. And sign this virtual disclaimer that it ain't my fault if it blows up!

That's pure laziness (or great self control) not doing an extra two mile.

Good vid, looking forward to testing LC

I'll head off the dealers this afternoon, they said my cars there and need to scratch that itch.

well 30 miles with some decent revs, NO full throttle (all partial throttle), but WOW that 3rd to 4th gear change is brutal!! I normally have my head thrown back on the a launch (in the impreza) but I had the same feeling changing from 3-4 in the GTR absolutely brilliant!!! lots more noise, but still quite quiet...

they have done a recall on the headlamps, app a short production on the 11 cars mean some are fogging up, not all have been effected, just putting it up so if it happens you know nissan will stand on

they look stunning it that blue

The LFA is decent, but tuning the engine past it's stock 552bhp is going to be difficult, they've done a good job already to extract 145bhp per litre. Where as throw another £2K at the GTR and it will have close to 600bhp and eat the LFA for breakfast, any model.

Where did you buy from? I don't think I could bring myself to buy from anyone apart from someone like middlehurst. My mind would just be working over time thinking of all those goons at nissan dealers wanting a shot. Nice PDI 'test drive' it'd be like someone de-flowering my daughter

Although I guess I'll never have to worry about things like this, unless I have a lottery win

I'll be inspecting the whole car with an electron microscope before sign off

I doubt the dealer would go crazy on the PDI test drive, there's a black box on the GTR that records telemetry and they know that (about 40 hours worth apparently).

I recon they will run the car harder when it's in for service to make sure it's not been tuned...
