Was good to put names to faces today at Surrey Rolling road. I'm well happy with my figures. It's a 2011 GTR with stock map and exhaust y-pipe for those reading this thread (and 24C heat to boot). Apparently the y-pipe is only worth about 6bhp.
Stock figures quoted at 523bhp and 451lbft.

Good to meet everyone behind the banter
I got 499.5bhp (video uploading) for a stock 2010 GTR, stock figures are 475-480, so Im rather happy with that! Car has also been dropped off at ValetMagic for a load of work including the ypipe, K&N panel filters and a Cobb AccessPort

Had a good time at Silverstone yesterday...first time on track apart from some Red letter days. Not as easy as it looks listening to instructor and steering around corners at 120mph. And the width of the track takes some getting used to.
The first stint was exhausting...learning the 3.6 mile track was tough and simple tasks like changing gears are difficult, lol. But after the second stint and a 25 minute session in a Renault Twingo it all started to come together. The third session was really enjoyable as by that time, you remember the corners and braking points much better.
I've booked in on 4th Nov at Silverstone with my own car (also meeting a supplier and some of his mates). Anyone else fancy it?

Nice one, what time you collecting the car I'm visiting Robbie in the morning for some Carbon bonnet vents?

Nice you again
Sadly my car is not finished just yet... Few more things on the interior to wrap, waiting for my front camera and then very tempted to do a top half carbon wrap like the Ferrari 599 GTO!!
Loving the ypipe!!! It's sounds absolutely brilliant!! It's the way the car should sound and it does help with the interior heat!
Still trying to sort out the sound system... Had a quote for 2200, but I don't want that much changed... A little bit more volume (and some better bass) is all that I want!!!

Y-pipe is quality, sorts the engine note perfectly and not too much noise inside.
I'm happy enough with the sound system after the Scooby, my next mod will be a transmission cooler I recon. I'll see how it goes on my first track day.

I think that would be too much carbon IMO, looked good as it is. May be carbon wrap the air vents if you can find someone to do it.

Had a great day at Silverstone on Wednesday. Hot lap with Michael Krumm (decent driver who's won a fair amount of race series) and got a signed copy of his new book.
Got to meet and talk with the GTR creator / chief designer Mizuno. He enjoys watching customers enjoy the car and and was very respectful to us all thanking us for buying his 'baby'.
I asked him what the minimum safe engine oil temperature is and he said the ECU limits power below 50C, but 70C is better. Gear changes are also slower below 50C or if the gearbox oil is above 130C.
Nissan were flogging GTR helmets for £50 giving the money to charity. I bought one as a souvenir and asked Mizuno to sign it
Then on to some different activities:
- 0-60-0 inn the 2011 car and the previous 2010 car to see the differences
- Slalom
- Gymkhana head to head against another driver in 350Z
Then in the afternoon took my car out for a few sessions on track and really got to grips with the track and handling on the car. This time I had no instructor and I think I did much better and was a lot smoother concentrating on driving with no instructions.
Had a good play on the fast corner at the end of hanger straight seeing where the limit was before the backend would let go (making sure there were no cars behind me first). The car handles really well and easy to catch the back end.
Photo of tyres after two of three sessions shows what a hard time they have, but asking a 1750KG car to corner at 100+ mph is going to be tough.
Nissan also performed the pre and post track inspections free
A great day and fair play to Nissan for organising it.
Next track day on 4th Nov and can't wait.

I've added a couple of essential mods...Aluminium tax disc holder & PIAA wiper blades (found Nissan ones rubbish with motorway spray).
And to reduce weight, some carbon bonnet vents, lol
Some more stuff planned after spring

It's all the essential bits and pieces
I'm looking for a good auto electrician to fit my cameras if you know of one...
I'm finishing my impreza this year, GTR will get brake mods when time to replace discs and pads. Other than that, happy with the car

Not sure on the electrician, when I visited Litchfield he had one come in to wire in the front parking sensor in to the front splitter, not sure how far he travels but might be worth a call to Litchfield.
What's the plan with the Scoob? 2.1 stroker?
I'm glad I kept the Scoob, the GTR isn't practical enough for a daily driver and IMO it looks bad if you turn up to clients in a £70K car.
