My11 just has larger turbo inlet pipe and reworked ecu to up power from a quoted 485PS to 530PS, plus obvious aesthetic tweaks and LC4.

My MY09 made 504bhp with only the y-pipe replaced.

I think the MY11 is worth 70k, I'm just failing to see how the MY11 is worth 14k more on the new price of the MY10.

MY10 + 14k = 750bhp so that's where you hit the bang for buck sweetspot

And I believe the y-pipe is a warranty supported mod (might be wrong, but still).

Mine will not be going to silly power for a little while, induction, ypipe and COBBs will do me fine and some finer touches to make it mine...

that's more than enough tuning to have a reliable and responsive motor that will blow your mind on the road

Look forward to hearing what your final decision will be

It's a colour for the new model only, remember seeing the buzz about it on gtroc. Guess that means they have a couple of new 2011's in blue for you to look at.

Lots of questions....

What is road tax and fuel consumption like on these?

Do Nissan offer good discounts on these? MY11 = £70k, do buyers actually give them £70k or can you get 10-15% off new? How about the MY10 cars at £60k, can you get them for low to mid £50k's?

Not quite sure they are worth £70k mind, quick yes, but it aint no Porka, how about depreciation?

They're heavy cars but dont half go well, looks nice in red

I got a bit of a discount off the list price.

Fuel consumption haha did not even ask.

Depreciation does not look too bad, especially whenyou consider the r34 GTRs.

I went to Porsche. Was not impressed with sales or the cars. Don't like the driving position, felt a little off. And as above, tested the vantageS as well. Nissan felt unbelievable!! Easy to drive, did not feel big or heavy.

Would definitely take over a Porsche

Road tax is £415 or is it £425...its deffo 400+
Fuel consumption on my modded car averages 25/6 on motorway, 16/17 around town and 6/7 WOT (seen as low as 2mpg though)

Don't think there is much discount available on MY11, MY10 probably deals to be done...sure a MY10 is to be had for 56k

Depreciation i guess over 2 years i have probably lost 15k so no worse than any other new car

Depends on what Porsche The Turbo/TurboS and GT2 are all lovely machinery.

The depreciation doesn't look too bad, 3yr old example here and maintains around 55-60% of its value..

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2770709.htm

Lovely cars, I take it you're going straight for a tune or is the 480 horsies under the bonnet enough for just now?

Red is a nice choice, the 'in' colour at the minute I think

Ah okay, didn't realise, but still there are quite a few appearing under the £40k barrier now.

Still though at that price, an excellent buy regardless of whether its an import or not. Tuning work already done, nicely specced, just need to look after it and I doubt it will fall much now here on in.

Does the 530 car have the same blowers as the 480 cars or have they been upgraded? I guess bigger turbos? What do both map with a Y pipe, better gains on the 480?

Agree!

MY11 530 car has same spec turbos, only engine difference is the turbo inlet pipe is wider than what the MY09/10 came with and then the car has different map on it.

Map and Y-pipe ups power to 600 with 600+ftlbs i believe on both MY10 and MY11....injectors, downpipes and intakes takes you to 640bhp with 650ftlbs approx.

Engine in stock form is good for 750bhp with 700ftlbs....obviously to get here your looking at turbos etc, then you're looking at a blueprinted engine to move on up

You waited a lot longer than me then

Happy with my choice and the car is brilliant to drive.

480 should be enough, but I believe the y pipe is a supported mod (so warranty stands), gives a little more power but it's the sound improvement I want

It was a bit noisy when it first started but as soon as the engine warmed up.... beautiful!!

Can't think of a negative, not the prettiest of cars, back seats are kind of pointless, but that's really worst. As for value for money, best i could find

I'll give you some negative feedback, 2mpg!!! Also i find the weight becomes noticeable in the tight 30-50mph bends, the car needs to run some aggressive front camber and sort the chassis out with ARBs and droplinks to reign this in, however when it's carrying speed the dynamics change and it just becomes so neutral.

Medium, i presume your's will have the BOSE as well, good clarity but for me considering the two 8" woofers in the rear seats there is more bass from a kids music box

Once the y-pipe is on then it all becomes irrelevant anyway

Couple of things from a friend who has a GTR - his is a 2009 model I think

4 new tyres - 2K and he's gone through new 3 sets.
Insurance costs have risen substancially he says
His appears to be full of rattles and spends quite a bit of time in the dealers garage.

He is very very wary of parking it now, since he suffered from the exploding bonnet.

I've only had a little drive in his and didn't want to drive it like a madman with him beside me.
He does though, an it is a very rapid machine alright.
He has been trying to sell it for the past 6 months though.

heard of instances when people have been driving on track hit a cone and burst the bonnet, or ran into the back of another car and burst the bonnet, but never parking!?!?!
