RS TURBO,
Since you baiting on here how about this.....

I was in the Cossie scene for years back in the 90's. I have had a 500+bhp RS500, two Escort Cossies and for what reason I don't know... I bought a RST (a MINT H plater in 2000). To be honest it was the worst handling piece of **** I have ever had.

The RST is the bottom of the food chain in the Ford scene, so I suppose you need to get a bit of a hard-on from somwhere. You may as well get it from ScoobyNet.

more and more hand bags on here lately :O

im a blue oval man at heart, having had them in one form or another for most of my driving life, so would love to see some pics etc RS Turbo (was always eyeing up a zvh turbo conversion but ultimately went for something newer instead)

Anyhow as im sure everyone on here could at least agree, decent engineering and perfomance out of any car is something good to look at and discuss, we're all motorheads after all but to me the whole pub banter "My cars quicker than yours" gets a bit boring abit quick

i drive my car for me, its not the quickest in the world but its fun for me.. and as with everything theres always someone with a better, quicker, blah blah blah

as for the OP, id love a EsCos, but id be so scared about leaving it anywhere heh

aye to me the EsCos is a work of Art

One day i might own one, i was so close myself (like you) to getting one instead of the scoob.
But in the end i wanted something new, low miles and reliable (that went well lol..)
for me personally an EsCos would be a 2nd car for some weekend fun

Escort Cosworth is a nice motor but in my opinion you can't beat the Sierra RS500.....

aye the RS500's are pretty sexy to
was at Ford Fair a while back when there was a parade lap of loads of RS500's and various other cossies, was a pretty cool sight

although the funniest thing i saw was a mark2 escort estate doing laps in brown of course with a huge steering wheel and leaning so much around the corners i thought it was gonna roll over

Fords are pretty straighforward to work on..
Subaru engines look more complicated but once you get used to them there pretty straighforward, just a bit awkward but if your hands on mechanically there o.k.
Choose what you want because when the novelty wares off your the one who has to pay the running costs......

i had a 450bhp escort cossie and thats was fast but i couldnbt afford it so sold that and stuck with a decent powered rs turbo ! just needed something quick and this does the job !

Dont believe all you read on internet forums mate. just carry on reading this thread and you will spot plenty of bs.

The 2.5 is a great engine with loads of grunt. Most problems have occured due to DIY mechanics, using 95ron fuel and tuning for big power without spending on forged pistons ect, adding after market exhausts and de-catting without re-mapping. Most (other than hatch) have been fine until 400bhp.
Cant argue about the higher tax band, f*cking government !

the problem with cossies these days is all u need to drive away is a plastic spoon, honestly if u think a rs turbo with 300bhp going through fwd is faster than a awd scooby, all ill say is ill wave at u when ur in the bush around the 1st bend, nice cars having said that
