no probs. the new unity desktop seems to prefer the new directx 11 cards for some reason. i am using unity lite (2D) and all seems to be running smoothly now. i can't get over how much faster it is over the 3D version. guess i am going to have to buy that new video card after all

I have spent a happy few evening p1ssing about with my selection of old machines, completely pointless but fun, got all of them working with Ubuntu, all plugged into a KVM, love messing with old hardware, my old motherboards all still work, bang Ubuntu on, plug the Ethernet cable into the network switch and its on the internet, no messing.
Installed Open Arena on one of them, basically a Quake alike, really good, might set up a gaming lan with four machines in the man shed, just need some more monitors.

Hmm, it told me that i did not have the hardware to run unity on mine when installing, and suggested that i change it at the login screen.
So it now boots into a mode that does not work and i can not change it to the classic version.
The only thing i can do at the moment is boot into the older version, need to have a good look around and see what is up.

Finally succumbed to the Windows 7. I cocked up some Ubuntu settings, and ended up wiping it with a fresh Ubuntu, with the hope to dual boot windows 7, but windows 7 seems to only like to be installed first. I hate to say it, but it does seem more natural.
