Hi there,

I can't remember exactly how much its cost us. But I think the kit has worked out at just less than 14K. We actually ordered some upgraded components in that price too (4pot Brakes, Roll bars etc).

There are several other things that Craig and I still need to find including:

Wheels and Tyres - not part of the kit.
Hayabusa Engine, Gearbox and & wiring loom
Bodyshop to paint the shell.
Cost of registration and Road SVA Test.

After you have those thats pretty much it. We'll be adding other things too such as:

Carbon Fibre Seats
Carbon Fibre Dash
STACK Instruments
Better Coilovers
Power Commander mappable bike ECU
Different Sprockets (yep you can change the final drive of the car for approx 16 quid - beats a new gearbox).
Overbore Kit
maybe a Turbo (in the future)

You can find out more here at: http://www.westfield-sportscars.co.u...site/intro.htm. If you fill in the registration form John Moss of westfield cars will contact you.

Ian.

And "cough" NOS

Oh - and a plumbed in fire extinguisher
Oh - and a dry sump kit

>>Power Commander mappable bike ECU
What is wrong with the bikes ECU?

I would have thought you could improve on it?? although I suppose it is mapped for a bike rather than car....

There is nothing standard about the Hayabusa Engine!!!

Might build a kit from my Fireblade if I ever get bored with it..
3 years and 65,000miles and not bored yet though!

What bikes will you be wasting ? Out of interest. What's the performance on something like the Megabusa?

JGM2 - do it. I have a Megablade (fireblade engined westie) - even though it is the baby it still has c330bhp/tonne - more than most Diablos, and having taken several fireblade (bike) owners out, all say it feels faster than the bike!! It obviously isn't at it weighs more, but being so low, with *real* wind in the hair and infinite cornering ability, it just feels it. Just awesome.

The Megabusa (and most BECs) 0-60 arn't actually that stunning as set-off and initial traction are an ****. My Blade hits 60 in 4.01, the busa shaves that to c3.7 - but once on the go.. mine gets from 60-80 in little more than another 2 secs, with 80-100 taking not much longer. Hook it up and that 0-100 in less than 9 secs! The Busa will shave 10% off that. Above 100 it doesn't fair as well due to aerodynamics (although the XTR2 will ) 100-120 is about 3.5 secs, 120-140 apparently about 6 secs - not that I've been brave enough to work it out

But strange thing is, the performance is not the biggest, or at least only pull, the overall package is the big attraction. Very low weight (mine is 404kg) means stunning cornering ability, add in go-cart handling, 12,000 rpm red line, 6-sp sequential manual gearbox, screaming F1 soundtrack, steering wheel gear change...

That orange XTR2 look stunning - what a car!! Don't forget my passenger ride Craig oh, and welcome to praying for sunny weekends

Hehehehe !!!!

We have the Kit.

Craigh and I got up at 5:45 this morning to get everything sorted. We now have the chassis on stands in the garage. The tub is now riveted and paneled - the brake lines are also in

I'll get some pictures on www.xtr2.net when we have a minute.

First weekend and think we've done ok for a pair of numbskulls

Front ans rear wishbones, shocks, brakes, rear drives shafts and diff are now in.

Had to stop cos we ran out of sellotape to stick it together

Think it gets hard from now on.
