I wouldn't like to be a trucker at this time. With the recession and fuel hikes my workplace cut the fleet from 44 to 2 trucks and outsourced! It will kill the economy that is for sure. I have read we will get a 5p increase and due to Saudi increasing production to prevent the world going into meltdown we are ok for now. However if unrest hits Saudi also we may be in for a shock. The price of a barrel has spiked higher than current cost but only for a short period. I hope this will be all this is.

 

It's going up already, close to 140p a litre for diesel when I was driving around this afternoon.

you should spend less money on alcohol, i dont drink and i dont care how much fuel is because i need it

people i work with moaning all week about costs of fuel etc blah blah yet go out every weekend and blow £150-£200 on pi55 then moan they cant afford fuel wtf blah blah

 

I own and live in my pub yet I still have to work in a different job 50 hours a week while my misses runs the pub, it's not about being able to afford paying £2 pound a litre cuz I can easily do it it's all about getting raped by a governent on more taxes that we shouldn't have to! They f**ked up n we have to pay for it! P.s I don't drink either, not that that has anything to do with it

 

I also don't drink or smoke but do work in an industry that this affects profit and peoples jobs.

Nice thing about £2 a litre will be that less people will be on the road, resulting in less traffic jams and more chance for me to drive my car above 50 miles an hour on motorways due to congestion

 

Wow officially the most I have ever paid for fuel this morning, last week unleaded was £1.31 and optimax £1.36. One week later unleaded £1.36 and a painful £1.41 for optimax, it's a joke anyone want to buy a forester stb as a cheap fun daily run around lol

yes, then impound the cars which then dont have drivers, or go over the cars and look for any reason to impound it and charge £100 a day storage costs till you get out of the police station and collect it.
they will make an example of those involved to deter others from doing the same.
get a few 100 cars n yeah they wont be able to arrest everyone, but they will just close the motorway and have you all off at the next junction and then open it up again.

 

It's not just few pence,
A few pence rise every quarter for the last ten years is over a pound which is 100% increase. it's bull sh!.t if it happens
It's not the sole reason of course not. I travel all over the world a lot and trust me England is nothing special these days... Unfortunately if I want to keep my standard of living I'm accustomed too I'm better off based elsewhere

well yes I agree with your sentiment, it's obscene that they get away with making such laws, along with other similar ones such as scheduled protests, treason has now been repealed etc etc.

The fact is they don't want the public to be allowed to protest or rise up against them, so they abuse their position (which after all is supposed to be serving us, the people) and pass laws to protect that position from us regardless of what they do. They WILL respond accordingly to such action as they don't want people to think they can get away with rebelling agains them.

I would be up for it, and if you are confident enough you can get away with it but that won't stop them trying to make an example of anyone doing this.
