Only on SN could a debate about the shocking state of adult literacy descend into London v Manchester and the relative merits of chip toppings.

Diversity of thread is a great thing!!..

I also like rag pudding with Dinaclass curry on from the chip shop.But not many do it now..

The battered fryer in Stalybridge do though,and the fish and chips are still cooked in lard instead of that new fangled veg oil stuff !

I was sent to an infants' school when I was 3 1/2 years old.

I was well taught there by good teachers and was able to read fluently when I was 5.

Harsh very Harsh our my family moved to the beautiful south many years ago ,but its still good to return for special occasions and of course to see the city of culture
